We really want to go to WDW Christmas week in 2014

We have 45 still in 2013 and will not be using these so we will be banking them, and are thinking about pulling ahead the 2015 point into 2014. Is this a good idea to do this now , so we have enough points. Let me know. TIA

If you have 2013 points that you want to apply to a trip in 2014 they must be banked into 2014. You can then borrow from your 2015 points to make your reservation. Yes, I'd bank them.

I would bank them just prior to the banking deadline. Sometimes plans change and a you might need them for a last minute trip.

I might bank early, but I would never borrow until the reservation is definitely there for booking.

It is fine to bank the points as soon as you know you will not need them for the current Use Year. You cannot borrow points until actually making a reservation, so there is no need (or way) to do anything with your 2015 points until you are within 11 months of the arrival date.
