:wave2: Hello. We are staying at Poly GVC Sept/Oct with Free Dining. Not counting our 2 travel days, we will have 8 full days of vacation. We will also be taking in MNSSHP, HoopDeeDoo, Cirque, and some Food & Wine Festival.

It will be me, DH, DD15, DD's friend also 15, DS9 and DS 18months.

Question: Will we have time in 8 days to take in the water parks, Pleasure Island and/or Disney Quest? Or will that just make our itenerary RUSHED?

It looks to me like you already have a lot going on.

It really depends on your family and how much they like to ride the rides, among other things. Is this your first trip to WDW? We need 2 MK days, 2 Epcot days (we like 3), at least a full day at MGM (or two short days), and a short day at AK (we prefer 2 but lots of people say half a day is enough)

We are skiping the Water Parks and More this trip. We also have 8 days. Last year we did a water park and a DQ day. We had 9 days. But the only other thing we did was a MNSSHP and we did feel like we might have liked a few more park days... of course I always feel that way.

All of the 'more' things would be hard with an 18 month old.

I would not add any water parks. You can always save them for another time :yay: . You are staying at such a nice resort with a beautiful pool and beach area :beach: , I would let the kids enjoy that. You probably paid good money for the Poly so relax and enjoy that for a day :yo-yo: ! Since you are doing so much this time you may want to save something new for next time!! If the weather turns bad :umbrella: you can always go over to DTD and walk around or go to Disney Quest. :dance3:

I'd add the waterparks... they are SO much fun for the teens and SO relaxing for adults... you get to laze around on the sand and ride water slides and eat mini donuts... and it's refreshing!

We generally go to a waterpark in the a.m. and get back to the hotel in the early afternoon and shower/change for a park. It's a nice way to break up the hectic pace of parks, parks, parks!

Love em!!

Thank you so much for your replies! What I might do is let the two teenagers, DD15 and her friend also 15, go to TL or BB without the rest of us. I could just upgrade their tickets or just pay the day rate.

As for as me and DH go, I would really like to leave the kiddies and head out for an evening at the Adventurer's Club. Again, we could just pay the day rate, since I am relatively sure we would not get over to PI twice.

We did DQ a few years ago and it was fun, but you're right, it might be better to save it until another trip. Hanging out at the Poly just soaking in the ambiance sounds pretty good to me!

Well, DQ may not be around too much longer, from what I have heard here at DIS. All the kids except the 18 month old would probably love a few hours there. Arrive around 10:30--they open at 11:00 and if you are there then, you can ride all the major rides without a wait and then do the arcade type games. It is really only a 3-4 hour attraction at most. We went to DTD at 8am and then went to DQ when it opened. Left around 2:30 and had a lazy afternoon at the pool. You could also do a half day at the water park, even the 18mo would enjoy that if he likes water.

We upgraded our tickets to 10 day water park and more with no expiration. We used 4 park days and 2 pluses last trip, will use 3 park days and 1 plus this trip and have 3 park days and 3(?) pluses left for next year.

If I had 8 days, I would definitely do DQ and a water park. We usually go 4-5 days and fit those things in. You can rest when you get home. ;)

We are definitely doing the Water Parks. DQ is still in business the last time I checked. ( 5 minutes ago :) ) The Water Parks are great mid-afternoon breaks for us. DQ is strickly the boys' cup of tea. We have the 6-day MYW tix w/all options added. There's going to be 5 pluses. Since we also plan on doing 4 parks in max 3 days, BB and TL (DQ for the boys), we will coming home with 3 days w/3 pluses (2 + for the boys) Next year's WDW tickets situation is taken care of.

COULDN'T BE BETTER THAN THAT!! :thumbsup2

I agree :thumbsup2 We have 7 days with PH and the water parks. Yes we will be using the pool at the Poly but we also want to do the water parks also. We will be doing BB the first day and MK that night :cool1:

I am debating this as well. We will be there 8 days INCLUDING travel days. We're staying at the Poly, GV room 11/18 - 11/25.

I have one day set aside for TL, and am trying to decide if we should add the water parks and more option, or just pay the one day rate. I'm not sure that we will USE all the extras. BUT if we do have the extras it's nice to have in case the kids decide they MUST go to DQ...which is one of their and DH's FAVORITES!!! I, on the other hand, can do without DQ!

It will cost us $25 MORE to add the water and more option than it would to buy park hopppers & one day water park tickets.

We just got back from a 10 day stay at BCV. We did add water parks to our tickets knowing it would be hot and that our 6 year old loves water. She remembered BB from her visit 2 years ago when she was only 4.

We had enough time for several water park vists and are many time visitors so not as focused on the main parks as first timers.

We ended up being glad we did. Twice we got there for the 8am early magic hour, which got me on all the big kid slides quick before the crowd arrived.

And one day we would have stayed for late extra magic hours except for debate over seeing IllumiNations, which we hadn't done yet... our daughter wanted to do both but IllumiNations and a return to the Japan store for another of those tiny lucky cat figurines won.

YUP!

We LOVED the water parks. We're not really used to the heat so after a couple of days of the major parks we were really beat and kinda looking for a relaxing day. Let me tell you, floating in the lazy river is the most relaxing activity on Disney property! We went 3 times to the water parks and it was a great start to the day cause you feel really refreshed and ready to go all day and night. We also went to DQ, in my opinion, something to check out once. Never did bother going to Pleasure Island, not really our thing.

It is about $40 plus tax more per ticket to add the Water Parks and More Option to my 8 or 9 day ticket. I would get 6 uses each. But with 5 of us, that is $200.00 . . .

Then again when you are paying thousands of dollars for your vacation, do you really want to feel like you can't go to Pleasure Island or DQ if you feel like it because the per use price is too high. . .

I wonder do we get a discount by upgrading the tickets before we go? If not, I guess I could just wait and see.

It's not going to a good deal if you do not have the no-expiration option. If your tickets are the basic MYW(14 days use) tickets, you might want to make sure if you are going to BB,TL,or DQ at least twice to be ahead $$$$. It costs about $37/adult and $30/child 3-9 to do BB,TL,or DQ each visit.

No matter what you choose, Just have tons of fun. party:

You make a good point about the $$$$. But the no expiration option will cost $100 on each ticket, so another $500.00. Yikes!

However, if DH and I go to the Adventurer's Club one night and take DS to DQ 1 time - that equals 2 uses. If the girls go to the water park once and DQ once - 2 uses . .. So, it really might be smarter to go ahead and get the add on.

I believe it's about $90 extra on each tickets ($40 + $50) You can alway save the un-use tickets for next trip. O'yeah, you will definitely return in the future. ;) Are you planning to use all of your theme park ? If not, you are going to love having tickets left whenever you returns then. I don't know how many days of MYW tickets you have. In my case, I have the 6 days MYW w/all the goodies added-on(includes 5-days water park and more)
Sorry if I am sounding a little bit Pushy :hyper:
It is going to be super fun party:
