We have done 4 7 day cruises. Now our families want to do a cruise together and can only afford a 3 or 4 day. Thye suggesed do a cheaper cruise for 7 day nd wait and do Disney at another time but my kids really want to do Disney. Do you think we will feel like 3 or 4 day isn't enough? Any suggestins on a cruise line that is less expensive that the kids will enjoy?
The children range from 2- 13. Thanks

No, I don't think you will be disappointed doing a shorter Disney Cruise.
Short cruises have a magical charm all their own.

Hi,

I personally would go with a 4 day Disney Cruise rather than a 3. I've heard from several people that it is too short. Good luck!!

Why don't you do a three or four day with your extended family, and book a back to back for you guys? You'd miss out on formal night and some of the other "treats" of a seven day - but you'd spend the time you wanted without obligating them to spend more than they are comfortable with.

There is no substitute for DCL....

I would much rather do a 4-day on the Wonder vs a 7-day on nearly any mass market ship (except maybe Nav and Mariner of the Seas).....

I would compare the price of a 7 day DCL vs what many people on this board think is most like DCL- the RCCL Voyager class ships, especially the 2 mentioned above- I think you'll find the costs to be similar...Thus, I would really go for the 4-day Wonder...

Great idea - this equals 2 days on Castaway Cay!

The vast majority of our Disney cruises have been 3 days. While I dearly love the 7-day, time and money constraints limit us to the shorter trips. Yes, it does go by much too fast, but no, I still wouldn't hesitate to do it.

After being used to 7-day cruises it's very possible you will be disappointed by a 3 or 4 day. You'll need to look at it more as a long weekend getaway rather than a cruise. So many of the traditional cruise things just don't happen on the shorter cruises (like formal nights, multiple days at sea, the special menus, etc). If you can swing a 7-day on a less expensive line, there are many good ones out there. So what if your kids think they want Disney again - it's all they know, but they aren't the ones paying for it. Chances are, they'll like the other line even better once you try it. I'd do that before I'd settle for a 3 or 4 day cruise if you really like cruising.

We r planning a 3 day now for May... WE just need a cruise ....
and we r happy to get our fix until our 7 day in October........

Hygiene99 I will be interested in hearing what you thought of the 3 day.
I have thought about doing back to back cruises but I am a little anxious about the day they do turn over.If it was just adults I wouldn't mind but I have 3 children who may become bored waiting fo the ship to open back up again.
I appreciate all the responses. We actually wind up waitng until the 2 year old turns 3 so they can all enjoy the kids club. Then maybe therest of the family can save for a 7 day.
Thanks again

We have done several 3 day cruises and they r fun but short would opt. for 7 day if it is the only cruise u r going to take for a bit
we do 3 day cruises in between our 7 day cruises to hold us over.... cruised last oct.. 7 day and have another booked for October .... 7 day

We may not get to do the 3 day the prices r unbelievable right now over $600.00 per person ouch does not look like we will get in on a 3 day..... cat 12, $1123.70 that is a lot of money....

Pop Century is looking better and better every day ..

We've done a couple of 4 days, but I really think a 3 day is too short. It all depends on how you look at it. Some people like Barb and Tony like to go more often for shorter trips. I prefer to go less often for a longer trip. It all depends on you!

I liked our 4 day so much, I booked another and combined it with a few days at WDW.

I may do a 7 day the year after that.
