It'll be me, DH, DS 5, DD 3(the crazy one) and DS 8 months. I liked TL a lot last time we went, but that was when I was pregnant with DS, so things were a lot different! My DD 3 is very, very active and quite frankly I'd be pretty nervous having her there. I think I'd rather hang out at the resort pool but DH thinks he wants to go to TL too. Anybody ever go to TL with toddlers? How was it? Please advise! Thanks! :)

I think it depends on what kind of day YOU want to have. I have 3 kids and my "wild child" is now 8. When she was between 2-5 I could barely take her anywhere that didn't have structure. I think a resort pool would have been plenty for me and I know she wouldn't have missed the waterpark. There were many times I chose not to take her someplace that I knew would be difficult for her and very hard for me. I just wouldn't put any expectations on her that I knew she couldn't handle.

Needless to say my DD(8) and I had a fantastic mother/daughter trip to WDW last summer and we had a blast. She was able to stand in line for rides and understand when we would just miss the bus. I am no longer afraid of her running off and she has good manners at a nice restaurant.

Good Luck and have fun with your spirited child :flower:

Would you consider Blizzard Beach? They have a great todler section (Tykes Pike) and it is alot of fun (and more contained then TL) It is better geared to small kids and safer in my opinon.

We go every trip and love it. We did TL also when DD was 2 1/2. She did ok, but liked BB better.

I'd skip it! We have 3, and we have never done the water parks yet.
1st trip - DD 18 months (too young)
2nd trip - DD 2 1/2 and DD 8 months (too young)
3rd trip - DD 4, DD, 2, and DS 10 months (too young and how do *2* parents keep *3* kids really afe at a water park when 1 of them isn't even walking and none of them swim?)
4th trip - DD 6, DD 4, DS 2 1/2 (still too young, too un-self sufficient to be safe at a water park, still don't like the aduclt to child ratio for a water park)

In your case, I would say the *8 month old AND crazy toddler* would be quite a handful at a water park!! I have no trouble keeping my kids safe at an amusement park, but water adds a whole new level.

If your 5 year old would just love it -- and your DH -- can you split up for the afternoon. Maybe you could take the 2 smaller ones to something they would enjoy - a character meal or something a little calmer and a little safer. Just a thought.

Maybe Blizzard Beach would work - I haven't been - but sounds like you would hav eto split up anyhow.

Good luck on whatever you decide. I can't wait until alll 3 of mine are swimmers....then we'll hit a water park together! They sound great.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm convinced that I want to wait until they're all older, I think we might do DQ instead. She'll still drive us nuts there, but at least I won't have to worry about her drowning!

We took our 2 1/2 year old to TL. She was also a very active child. Her mother and I stayed with her in the children's area and it was great. Her favorite thing was the children's lazy river, but she enjoyed everything.

Also took her to BB and she liked it but not as much as TL.

I haven't done DQ before, but from what I hear it would be much WORSE for a tolder then BB or TL (by far). Read the thread about over stimulation. I don't think there would be as much for the kid to do.

Last year we did BB with 3 todlers (they were just under 3 years old) and had a blast. It was everyones in the group (8 people total) favorite day. We mostly did the tolder things and the lazy river. The wave pool there is gental enough to take young children in. (not TL)

But then again it really does depend on the weather.

This year some of our members are planning to do DQ, but the mom's are not. We are going to do something else with the young kids (depending on the weather.)

Okay, so maybe I need to rethink DQ-I really don't know much about it. Maybe we will look into BB more, it sounds like the toddler area might work.
