Would this situation upset you?? (Long)

Thanks for all the good thoughts, everyone, I really appreciate them :) I hope we (my family) all get to go, together, in the fall.

disykat: I never called my sister "inconsiderate" because I don't feel that she is inconsiderate. It was just a bit frustrating yesterday because she gave the impression that she was ready (physically and emotionally) to take the chance and get onto a plane. My sister, in a million years, would never do anything purposely to aggravate or upset anyone. :)

Driving down Route 95 to florida, I doubt you are ever very far from a hospital. You don't need to know where it is, just make sure you have a cell phone and dial 911

So how was she going to get to the free trip in Germany with her father?

Airlines can handle medical emergencies, there are a lot of airports between here and Florida where they could land. I know asthma can be very serious. My ob/gyn's wife died from an asthma attack.

Thanks for that info, I didn't realize you could dial 911 on your cell phone and it would connect you to the local area's police and/or fire department. That's good to know!

kallison: No, it's my niece who usually goes to Germany with my BIL. So it's my sister's husband and daughter who go. My sister hasn't been to Europe with them in over 14 years, due to how bad her asthma has been since then. :(

Something interesting: I called Delta last night to see if they have electrical outlets on the plane, in case my sister would need to plug in her nebulizer. I know on Amtrak trains they have outlets at almost every seat. The guy I spoke to was very nice and we looked at the FCC's web site together and found out that (obviously) these machines ARE allowed on the plane in a carry on, BUT they have NO PLACE on the plane to plug them into! You have to bring your own power source. So my husband did a quick search on the internet and he found that there are battery-operated nebulizers, and he said they also sell power packs that you can either charge, or use batteries, that you can plug an electrical appliance in to. I'm just surprised that the planes don't have anyplace to plug it into!
