I just noticed that the after shave my DH uses is 3.4oz

would the 0.4oz make a difference if I kept it in the quart bag

I hate trying to pack things like this is the checked luggage

things were so much easier when you could bring a small bag with liquids right on the plane

another question--with the 3-1-1 quart bag I keep thinking you can only

have 3 bottles in there--I dont know where I got that idea

so can you put as many bottles (3oz) in the bag

or is it only 3

thanks all

leaving on the fantasty in just 18 days!!!!!

3 oz = 3 oz, not 3.4

You are not limited to 3 bottles in your bag though. As many as you can fit, as long as each one is 3 oz or less.

wow that was fast I barely hit the send button and your answer was there

good that does make things easier

thanks for the reply

The correct amount is 3.4 oz or 100ml. So your husbands shaving creme is the right size. It is also as many items as can fit into a quart size bag. Have a good time.

It is in fact 3.4 ounces or 100 ml. It has never been 3.0 ounces. It has always been 3.4 ounces.

Now...you may be confused. You can take as many liquid products in your CHECKED bag as will fit. The baggie of liquids (quart size zip-lock baggie with 3.4 ounce or less containers) can go in your CARRY-ON bag.

So you can bring a baggie with "trial size" liquids on the plane with you. And you can bring unlimited full-size toilitries (shampoo, shave cream, perfume) in the bag that gets checked in.

While you are correct that 3 oz = 3 oz, you are wrong about 3 oz being the limit. The actual rule is 100mL which translates to 3.4oz, not 3.0oz. It is just that 3-1-1 is more "catchy" than 3.4-1-1.

OP - Your husband's 3.4oz after shave is just fine.

Sorry all. I thought it was 3.0 and was still. I will have to remember that for my next flight, because I also have some items that are 3.4.

I didn't remember it ever being 3.0. I wasn't working at the checkpoint at the time the liquid ban was rolled out. Bad memory...blocking it out...call it what you will.
