I don't feel like going out. It's raining a lot and cold. The prediction is snow for later tonight. I want pizza.

Would you order the pizza delivered, or just suck it up and find something inferior in the freezer?

I would order pizza, and tip well , since the driver has to get through the snow and cold That way you will both be happy. Everyone wins! If you really want pizza, and anything else is "inferior" you might as well get it and enjoy! You won't be satisfied with whatever you scrounge up, and it is FRIDAY! Good day for pizza!

PS that driver is out there working, and if no one orders any pizza, he won't make any money. SO you are supporting the local economy ANd he expects to be out driving in it, so he is prepared.

Mean to whom? The delivery driver? I order food all the time in crappy weather. It is one of the perks of being a grown-up. I usually do give a nicer tip if it is particularly nasty out, though.

I agree, order the pizza and give a BIG tip. Here a large pizza would run about $14, I would probably tip the driver $5 to go with that for the mile he drove .

Y'all, I ordered that pizza before I even came back here to see your responses! I don't care..I need pizza and I'm not going out the get it!

Here's the deal I got when I called in. Papa John's has the $10 large deal, too. I had a coupon to get either a free 2 liter of Coke or free breadsticks. I chose breadsticks, and the guy said, we have a special of giving the free Coke with all orders! So....before tip the order of a Large pizza, breadsticks and Coke with tax is $12.46!! So I will be giving my savings to the darling delivery person who brings me food right to my front door.


Thanks for not making me feel bad, y'all!! And yes, Pakey, I can start drinking NOW!

I had Papa John's tonight too! The $10 deal was good and saved me quite a bit on my usual pizza order. While our weather has drastically improved, our street is lumpy and bumpy and my walk has a thin, shoveled strip to walk on. I tipped the guy $8 for a $10 pizza and an order of wings.

Since I painted the ceiling of my son's room today all by myself, I'm getting a Silician pie delivered. No way am I cooking.

Your deal sounds good, HRH, but there aren't Papa John's around here. No Pizza Hut or Domino's either--chain pizza doesn't just survive around here.

We have a great Sicilian pizza place near here, but they don't deliver!

BTW, the pizza was great, and now I am moving on to my dessert...multiple glasses of wine. I wish I had a bottle of Chianti.

I gave the driver a good tip, and apologized (that's what I do..) for bringing him out in the weather. He said no problem..

The rain had slowed down a bit and it hasn't started snowing yet. I am full and happy.

DH used to deliver pizza as a side job (now does taxes for H&R Block-better money and only part of the year!) and believe me, they get paid squat--they depend on those tips. Nothing was worse than sitting around bored waiting for orders...they LIKE to be busy, making money, making their shift go by quickly. And yes, support the local economy. Everyone wins!

Plus--DH has lost 100 pounds since quitting work at Pizza Hut--sitting around the restaurant apparently has some detrimental side effects! (He's working out with a personal trainer, doing WW-he did not quit delivering pizza and automatically lose weight!)

I ordered pizza last night too- Pizza Hut- I did go out and get it BUT our Pizza Hut used to be a Burger King and it has a drive Thru- so I didn't have to get out of the car!
