I'm not sure if this is a bladder infection or what (because I've never had one) but here's my problem. For the past couple of months or so, whenever I have to go to the bathroom it's almost as if I won't make it to the bathroom. It always feels like I have to go SOOOO bad. Sometimes it would be a normal stream, sometimes it's just a very little. :confused3 Otherwise, it doesn't hurt, doesn't burn, doesn't do anything else except the feeling of having to go really, really bad.

Thing is though, is I really don't have a regular doctor yet. I've been on a waiting list to get into the same doctor as my DH and kids. And I didn't hvae a primary care doctor before either.

Any suggestions on what it might be?

IMHO, if you have a problem that has been going on for months that is bothering you to the point that you're posting it on a forum - go to a doctor. A lot of the Urgent Care-type places are used to seeing people without a regular doctor and are still very helpful.

Doctors have a term for it, it's called "Urge Incontinence". The Mayo Clinic website has an article about it, (but I'm too new, recently out of lurkdom here at Disboards, so I can't post links yet.)

It is important that you be referred to a qualified urologist. My experience with primary care physicians has been that they often mis-diagnosis urological disorders.

It could possibly be Interstitial Cystitis. It took 4 months of testing before I finally received an accurate diagnosis. The Mayo Clinic has a good article on interstitial cystitis:

If it has been going on this long and was a bladder infection it would be into your kidney's by now. You can have a bladder infections with no symptoms or have all the common ones. Everyone symptoms vary. I would go to a urgent care center and be checked out if it is bothering you that much.

Chlamydia?

I don't know if you are just rude and hateful or trying to garner laughs. Either way you should educate yourself, those aren't the symptoms chlamydia, but rather urinary incontinence. Hope you had your little laugh and patting yourself on the back.....:sad2:

Actually, urinary incontinence is the inability to hold urine..... just so you know.

Have you been drinking a lot of caffeine lately? I had trouble in law school like this, and my doctor told me to lay off the caffeine. It did seems to help.

I would definitely see a doctor about it as soon as I could.

Either way, she should consult a doctor and you should be ashamed for laughing at some person for saying she has an STD. WTH is wrong with you people?!

I suffer from bladder infections about once a year. I've had them for at least 20 years. I can tell you that it is NOT a bladder infection with 100% accuracy. The pain becomes so bad after just 2-3 days untreated ...you need antibiotics FAST.

You could look up STD's on the web and see if any of them fit what you are experiencing. Sorry, I'm certainly not a doctor so I can't be of much help. All I can say is that it isn't a bladder infection.

Keep us posted and good luck! Don't let something like this go untreated any longer. It will only make things worse.

Is there an Urgent Care office in your town? I have Interstitial Cystitis and it can get extremely painful as bad or worse than any labor pains I had with my kids. The doctors at an UC office can get cultures and get you on meds. When you do get on with your primary care doctor, the records can be sent to that office. Good luck and I hope you find relief.

Probably because:
1 - The internet is NOT a good substitute for seeing an actual profession IN PERSON about your medical issue.

2 - Waiting for months to ask for help for a medical issue and going to a forum instead of a medical professional is not the most logical course of action

Of course, I wouldn't wait months to address a medical issue that was concerning me and I wouldn't consult a message board for a possible diagnosis.

And one of the symptoms of Chlamydia is urinary urgency.

When you go to the internet for a medical diagnosis, you get what you get. :confused3
