I am pretty sure that in the UK / Europe such discounts being only available to a particular group of people would be viewed as discrimination and therefore illegal!

Actually - when we were in Italy I specifically remember at Pompeii that we had to pay a non EU resident rate.

Don't know about WDW, but according to Dave Koenig's Mouse Tails series of books, pay and benefits are good enough at the original Disneyland that many who take jobs there intending to work there through college, end up making Disney a career.

You can absolutely have a great paying career working for Disney as a salaried worker, but most people who work at WDW are hourly and do not make much. I'm talking about the people you see, the ones who run the rides, serve the food, clean the parks, and sell the souvenirs. I wish i could remember what i was paid when i worked there, but it wasn't much.
