We are all booked for our DFTW memories wedding at halloween, not much for us to sort out as it is quite 'vegas' style and just us and our 2 kids.
Because we have no guests the official photos will be the only ones that we have.
Disney cant tell me who our photographer will be at this stage - though i did opt for the 'add on' $500 (on top of the wedding package price) for the copyright CD of our disney wedding photos.

... However I have become increasingly anxious about this and I had put some feelers out.
I saw from you guys that Randy Chapman had great reviews so i have been in contact with him and he does a VERY REASONABLE package deal for memories weddings that combines his photography and the copyright images and STVS videographer and 3 copys of our wedding DVD for $500... the same price as the above disc from disney.
(we are also hoping to add on the live webcast of the ceremony for our relatives in the UK for $125)

My questions are:
*Can i cancel the $500 CD from Disney without penalty?
So far i have only paid a deposit on the memories package - balance to be paid shortly.
* As far as i understand disney will not supply a disney photgrapher if I go with Randy as an outside vendor?
* I will not be reimbursed for this? (though it still works out better value)
* Will there be complications or any fees for using an outside vendor? Obviously Randy is well known at disney - but will they charge me extra for bringing him?

Are there any other things that I should know about this that i may not have thought of?

The only thing that you will not be able to do with an outside photographer is get the morning after photo shoot in the magic kingdom.

After my experience with Disney Photographers at my wedding this would be a tough choice as maybe 50 out of the 945 photos came out. However we had a totally different photographer for the MK shoot than from our wedding (oh how I wish we had had this one all along!!) and all of those photos came out perfectly.

Looking back I'm not sure what I would have done, except I know that Randy's photos are BEAUTIFUL and the Disney Photographers are pretty hit or miss.

Don't be sorry, that was really useful info for me.

We've just confirmed Randy and asked him to cover the ceremony and a short session afterwards. But Randy has very generously offered to meet us at the villa and do a few getting ready and limo shots at no extra cost because he is looking forward to doing a Halloween gothic shoot - which is just lovely of him
We aren't massively into lots of posey shots, the focus of the day is the actual wedding itself and we want that captured so that we have the memories of us in the moment with our kids.
For that reason we have also decided to go with the package that includes the videographer too.
It's such a reasonable price, we were going to have to pay an add on of $500 to Disney for just the copy right photo CD of the photos that they were going to take and with no clue who the photographer would be that we would be assigned to!
I know that the price of the Disney photographer themselves is included in the memories price package so we will forfeit that but we would rather choose who we are having and as I said, I can have Randy, the videographer and the DVDs for the same price as disney charges for the photo CD alone. We can do a webcam for our relatives in the Uk for a small fee and I have been told that they can edit the photos and video and get the disks back to us before we leave Florida a week later (so we can show them at our reception back home)

We are a bit of an alternative couple so I'm hoping the ceremony and the shoot after will be a good laugh.

We won't be doing any other photo shoots so this one has to be as fab as possible and we have no adult guest to do back up shots.

I just wanted to say that we had RANDY included as our Disney photographer in our wedding package and he was AMAZING so your definatly doing the right thing by having him!
He really takes his time and likes to do creative pics if he realises your thr type of couple that will go for that "He had my laying on the huge piano in the GF while dh was kissing me! " that was fun to get up and down off of in my huge dress
He also did a pic of Dh hand pushing my dress up my thigh haha and its the most wonderful picture out of them all he certainly knows what he is doing!

Congratulations on the up-coming wedding Halloween is my fav holiday even if i am a scaredy cat!
