Would someone explain Express Checkout please?

I've heard it mentioned several times, but I still don't know how it works. Thanks.
 
Basically, any additional charges you incur (such as phone calls and room charge stuff) are charged to the card you left at check in. Early in the AM a statement/receipt is left on your door handle. That's it!
 
When you check in, the front desk swipes your credit card and leaves an open balance on your room account. Any purchases you make throughout the week on your room charge card, or via your room (telephone, room service, valet parking, etc.) are put to your room charge account. On the last night of your stay you will receive a sheet reviewing the charges tyou have made on your room account. If everything is o.k., then just pack your bags in the morning, take your room key.charge card with you, and leave the hotel. Your account stays open until midnight the night you check-out. After the account has closed, the hotel charges your room charges to your credit card.
 
It's wonderful ... we have used it many times and have never had a discrepancy ! I actually keep an envelope in the room safe and I put the receipts that I have charged into the envelope. When I get the statement, I do a quick comparison and we're on our way without ever having to visit the lobby again !

I always get a copy of the charges the day before we leave (I've never had a problem) just to check things so far then in the morning of check out, when you open your door you will see the envelope - again double check and if all is OK, you can leave.:)
 
OOPS!!! My daughter and I did express check-out on Sunday when we left POR, and I just realized when I saw this thread that I didn't see my final room account on my door the last morning.
I checked with the front desk the last night, but I didn't ask for a final print out because I know I'd get one in the morning. But, we left at 4:20 AM, and I was not awake I guess, so I forget to look!

So, my question is, who do I call to get this mailed to me? Anyone out there know this?

I would call the front desk of your resort.

I've used express checkout on all of my trips and never had a problem. If we're at a resort where we walk through the lobby to the room, I will usually ask for a printout towards the end of the trip to make sure all is in order. If it's a moderate or OKW, I don't bother and wait for the last morning. It was on our door at 7:00am when we got up last Friday morning at OKW.
