Would love info/tips (Disney Magic) from experienced DCL cruisers

Here is my fun piece of advice. If you like soft serve ice cream, make sure you go by the soft serve machine each day and check what flavors are being served. On many cruises, especially those 7 nights or longer, they rotate a flavor of the day which can be anything from strawberry to banana to mango. It's fun to check each day to see what your flavor choices are. And it's all included in your cruise fare, so give that handle a good long pull (or more recently ask the cast member for a second cone!).
Better yet grab a cup from the soda machine and fill a cup of ice cream. You will have to hunt down a spoon usually over by the other deck food places.

Yes this is allowed. On the Wish in Sept. The person behind the counter told people to go get a cup from there if they didn’t want a cone . Even had spoons right there.

If ice cream sandwiches are your thing we like to use the big chocolate chip cookies at Castway Cay and ice cream from the machine at lunch.

Dining is an area that DCL is really different than other cruiselines. It's more like traditional dining on a cruise, except for the fact that you rotate through the restaurants. Your servers rotate with you, so you'll always have the same server, assistant, and head server. It's a really nice setup, especially on the longer cruises, because they get to know you, and you may even get to know them a bit. If you have younger kids, the servers will automatically offer a kids' menu.

The rotation of your restaurants used to be printed on the keycard for your room but now it's not, and it's on the app instead; each day in the app will show you where your dining location is. You just show up at the time indicated and someone will walk you to your table. If you are Table 30, for example, you are Table 30 in every one of the three restaurants.

Early (main) dining tends to fill up the fastest when booking but you can always be added to a waitlist if you want main dining but were assigned late dining.

Standard character meets don't need reservations either, just show up - but the line does get cut off at some point as the characters are only out for a designated period of time. I like to look at the app for days beyond the current date so that I can see what character meets I really might need to plan for and what ones I can do on future days.

You can buy a photo package ahead of time (it is cheaper to do so) that will give you unlimited photos from the cruise.
