restaurants. We are going down in Oct. for 5 days/4 nights, staying at the POP. I'm already planning which restaurants to eat at on our DDP, so, I can be ready to call when our 180 days gets near.
There will be 4 adults and 3 children (2 boys - ages 2 & 5, one girl age 3). We are looking at these:

In Epcot either the Le Cellier Steakhouse or San Angel Inn for Dinner

In Magic Kingdom the Royal Table for Dinner - is this worth 2 TS?

In AK - the Restaurantosauras for Breakfast

If we don't do the Royal table (and use 2 ts on the ddp) we are looking at:

Whispering Canyon
and
well....we are not sure about the other place for MK

Would love any feedback and suggestions!!

Everyone has their own opinion, as you can see on these boards, but I would definitely pick Le Cellier for dinner.
We did CRT one time but that was just before it became a signature meal and IMO it had a much better menu selection than they have now. That being said sometimes the experience is worth more than the food. Many people just like eating in the castle. There was not as much Character interaction there as at many other meals that I have attended. Cinderella is usually not there at dinner time as far as I know.
Restaurantasaurus is closed but Tuskerhouse is open. Haven't been there but on my list for next trip in Dec.
I have enjoyed Crystal Palace in MK and the characters are great with kids that are your kids age.Haven't done Wilderness Canyon .
Kona Cafe is on the Monorail line , easy access from MK, and one of my favorites for dinner.
Menus are available on this site and another site aswell, that always helps me. Have fun planning!

Yes, Tusker House does a great breakfast... There is a larger selection of food than the other had... Daisy is new to characters and Pluto is out... The place is loud and tables are pretty close together.... But the food is really good, atmosphere is cool and fun (very African in theme as you would imagine), and the characters are great... They also have a "parade" with the characters that is fun. We really enjoyed this one... Well, except for the noise level.

We also love Whispering Canyon and Le Cellier. Very different places and we love them for different reasons...

WC has a very simple menu and the food is not fancy at all... But the food is done very well and the atmosphere is terrific... It is loud (in a good way) and tons of fun... The servers are characters themselves... For us, it is a most do every trip.

Le Cellier has an upscale feeling... The atmosphere is calm and we like feeling like you are in a basement wine cellar even though you are not... The food is very good and is the best you can get (IMO) only using 1 credit.

As far as other MK restaurants.... remember you can always get on the monorail to one of the resorts... It is often a nice break and it gives you more options... Chef Mickey, Ohana, 1900 Park Fare (I think a better choice than CRT because it is only one credit and you see Cinderella) are great... You can also take the boat to the Fort for Trails End.

Given the ages of the children, I wouldn't select Le Cellier. I think (and only you would know for certain) that the children might have a nicer time at Marrakesh, or Germany. The food at Marrakesh is quite nice, Germany? Well, it's a buffet.

However, both places have entertainment that encourages children to join in. Le Cellier is close, and dark and probably not the first choice for many children.

I think your 2 little boys would probably like dining with Pooh and his gang at the Crystal Palace better than the princesses in the castle. It is an excellent buffet with great character interaction and it will only cost you 1 TS instead of 2!

JMHO!!!

Good luck and Have fun!!!

Ohanas also would be a nice place for the kids. They interact with the kids with coconut races - songs - limbo and other things.

I love Le Cellier but have picked Coral Reef for my 3 and 5 year olds. They are always entertained by the fish.

I personally do not feel that CRT is worth it. Not impressive to me. There are not characters at dinner besides the fairy godmother in the downstairs lobby and I'm sure your boys would care les. Our kids really enjoyed Crystal Palace last year and we are going to return. The lunch buffet is extensive and everyone was full and happy.

Restaurantosauras for Breakfast was IMO the biggest rip off on property. There are a million peopke there and the characters are spread WAY too thin. The food was awful. I would try a resort character breakfast before you go. Or Go early and then do Chef Mickey's for dinner. That could be on another MK day as well as it is a short monorail ride and has the same characters as Restaurantosaurus.

Whispering Canyon is good and fun for kids. Are you staying there? I wouldn't make the trip if not though.
Good luck!

Monica

If you don't do CRT, how about dinner with Cinderella and the Stepsisters at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian? It's easily reachable by monorail from the MK and it's only 1 dinner credit.

I think this is what our new plans are.....we are going to do WC the day we arrive, Tues. we are going to do 1900 Park Fare for Dinner and then head to the Halloween party, Wed. we are going to do Le Cellier (I know its not a character, but, thats ok) at Epcot and Thurs. we are going to do Tucker's for breakfast at AK. Then Friday we leave:sad1:
Thanks for all the great rec's!!
