Would like to go to Universal

I'm staying at Old Key West this month, and would like to go to Universal for 1 day. I was on the Mears transportation site and the taxi fare estimator said it was $46 ( round trip??). Seem high for one way.

Can the resort book me a shuttle??. Now I Can't get the web site to work for shuttle price, would anyone know. TIA

There is an entire thread, a sticky, at the top of this page. It has all the info you need to plan a trip over to US/IoA. If I remember correctly, the shuttle runs about $20 pp, r/t. You do need to prebook it, and either pay with a credit card over the phone, or have exact cash if paying in person. You can call them the night before you want to go to US/IoA and they will tell you what times are available for your resort.
I have used Mears several times with very good results.

We went over for 1 night last summer - booked a room at the HRH to get the early entry and express pass (which was worth EVERY penny in the summer). We left our stuff at BWV and just packed a duffle for over night...that taxi fare sounds about right but I think including the tip. There were 3 of us so we didn't have to pay pp with a taxi. With the shuttle we would've had to pay pp and I think it would've ended up costing about the same...what we liked about the taxi was it was dedicated to us and was there when we were ready to go.
