Hi Everyone! :wave2: Ever since our first trip to Florida it has been something we have been thinking about. My 13 1/2 DS and I are now very seroius about making a move to the east. Does anyone have any information as to good areas. My DS is in Middle school and I would be looking for an area with a good middle and high school. Also a good job market. I have been a customer service manager with the same company for the past 10 years but I am definately not vested as we barely have medical insurance. To but it bluntly-10 years and nothing to show for it.

Also, North Carolina and some of the other south eastern states have been mentioned to me. I am looking for any and all advice.

Thanks,

The public schools were not attractive to us, we were looking in Pinellas County, they have a very confusing choice program. People who move in get the bottom of the barrel. They spend thousands less per student then our school district. If we move our kids will have to be in private school most likely. Good luck.

I am born and raised in Florida and survived the public school system. But, I now have two children in the system and all I can say is beware the FCAT. IMHO, this is our state testing and all it seems the schools do these days is teach our students how to take this test... I don't know how the system works in Ca., but private school do look real good about now!
