Would lack of monorail be a pain?

Hi, We have a trip planned for 11/15-11/21 and currently have garden view at the Poly reserved. I loved the Poly back in 01'. I am also interested in WL but am worried about not being on the monorail. My 3 DD will need her stroller. We stayed at CSR last november and i loved the resort but did not love the buses. The WL looks great but how is the transportation around thanksgiving?? This will be my DH's first Disney trip and i really want him to have a great time. Anything about the WL (other than a better price) that would make me want to make the switch?? For all the WL lovers out there i would love some advice!
thanks

I have only stayed at WL onsite so I don't know how much better it might be to be at a monorail resort.

However, transportation was good at WL and we had no problem with our stroller. Boat to MK was fun and bus transportation was fine. I don't know how Thanksgiving is however. I will say that the best thing about WL is everything is under one roof - restaurants, shopping, rooms, etc and it is a very short walk to bus stop and boat stop. Theming is nice and the pool is great.

Have fun whatever you decide!

You'll have a great trip no matter where you stay. Both resorts are excellent, however I like the WL's theme more. Transportation wise, nothing can beat the monorail, especially if you have young kids. We didn't have any transportation problems while at WL, but I've heard it can be slow. :)

To us its all relative, both our great resorts but we have stayed at the Poly, standard and conceirge and now feel its not worth the money. For a cheaper rate, better themeing and a resort all under one roof, its WL. We've been in a long line for the monorail at the Poly a few times, the boat to MK is great but so is the boat from WL to MK. We've had long walks outside to the GCH at the Poly, not a problem but alittle inconvenient if hitting the snack bar or lounge.

WL is our home away from home the last bunch of trips, unless a really super code comes out we don't even consider the Poly anymore. The boat to the MK is relaxing and never a problem, we boat to the CR to gain access to the monorail to go to EPCOT and some of the best buffetts on property are at FW, another boat ride away. We now take the savings from not staying at the Poly and stay longer at WL, but its to each their own. We do not miss the monorail at all.

I think in his last trip report Zzub stayed at WL with a daughter in a stroller and said he just rolled right onto the boat in the morning. It appeared that he had no trouble what so ever.

Well, since you commented you did not enjoy the buses/stroller during your prior trip, I recommend staying with the Poly. Only problem is that you will get MAJORLY spoiled with the ease of getting around. You will have direct monorail access to both MK and Epcot. It's awesome!

We stayed at WL pre-kids and loved it. We'll be staying there again someday when our kids are post-stroller age.

Personally after having so many stays at the Contemporary I can't see my family and I not staying on the Resort Monorail line, so I guess you can say were Resort Monorail snobs lol. In our opinion it makes things so much easier for our whole trip, plus with yourself having a 3 year old in a stroller it would makes a lot easier on you since you would have the Monorail right there.

Although I haven't stayed at WL, we did stay at FW Cabins. The WL boat also goes to FW where they have a really cute petting zoo area and evening campfire (with Chip & Dale) with Disney movie that your daughter might really love, if you need a break from the parks. Have a great trip! :flower3:

Thanks to everyone for the input!! We have decided to stick with the Poly for this trip. I would still like to stay at the WL one day, maybe when we no longer need the stroller. I can't wait to see how much fun my DH is going to have! He went to DL as a child but there is just nothing like DW! Wishing everyone a great time at disney!
