Would it be weird if

Why would you care what other people think?

These boards seem to be filled with people asking other people's opinions on whether or not something is "okay" or "the right thing" to do.

Is it okay for someone else to give you a dirty look or call you "that guy" just because you are doing something they wouldn't do?

I guarantee you if you followed that person around for 30 minutes, you would see them do something that you would never do.
"Glass houses".

Just do whatever you are comfortable with and don't worry about anyone else. If you feel a little uncomfortable doing it, then just don't do it. Most people's gut will tell them what's acceptable and what's not.

I say switch your hamburger bun and then offer everyone else around you an onion bun, too. :dance3:

Who is the only person weirder than the person switching buns at WDW? The person watching the person switching buns at WDW.

Seriously, if you have nothing better to do at "The Happiest Place On Earth" than judge someone on their food, YOU have the problem.

Just have to say this thread is totally cracking me up! We leave tomorrow and I thought I had everything checked off my list, now I must add buns and flask!:rotfl:

I say, do what you need to do, and don't worry about what other people may think....

Ok I'll say it...ya that's weird.
Carrying around your own hamburger buns?

But I could care less and don't think anyone else would even notice.

Unless you did it right there at the counter and handed the orginal bun back. Then you might get some looks. :rotfl:

If you think you need to do that to eat, then go ahead.

As for my opinoin about the bun...hey they are hamburger buns.
Taste fine to me.
Lord know I've had far worse at almost any fast food place.

If I saw you switch your bun with a yummy onion one...I'd be totaly jealous.

But don't worry...I'm too shy to actually approach you and ask if you have an extra.;)

Am i the only ones that dont mind the buns? lol i only had one but i didnt mind it at all lol

I agree. They are not great, but not as horrid as some make them to be.

Personally, I would deal with them or order something else before I would carry buns around DW, but to each his own.

You find me someone who can't claim a little weirdness and I'll find you a liar. :)

While I don't carry buns around with me, there was a day at the Sci-Fi where I wished I had. It was so stale that much of it fell off when you attempted to lift it...then you could bang the hard little pieces on the table and make noise with them.

I'd have given you $5 for your onion roll.

Someone should hang out at the Sci-Fi selling decent buns to the customers, lol.

If I can't find out the ingredients of the buns, if we have any (veggie)burgers on our trip I'll have to switch them out, at least for hubby and son. Ingredients in many "normal" buns would ruin our day.

So I would just think you're a solidarity sister, if I saw you. :)

Especially with a burger, don't most people sort of disassemble them to put condiments on? :confused3

Good point!

Yes I'd say it is weird. Plus who the heck is going to carry a bun around all day at Disney? the idea is to carry as little as possible not bring the kitchen sink or in this case the bread drawer.

It is one burger, deal.

Your idea might be to bring as little as possible, but from what I've seen at DLR, let alone at WDW where people stay for longer trips, that is NOT the prevailing opinion!

The OP could just deal, but many families can't just deal with the bun given, depending on the ingredients. The OP might be bringing snacks etc anyway...a small plastic container with one bun isn't going to be the make or break weight in the backpack.

By the way there's nothing wrong with Disney Buns, they are your average white flour bun! :bored:

I still remember when they switched over (only last year, wasn't it?) and the complaining! People now might not know the difference, but it isn't the same bun that they had before...

:rotfl:

Had to add...I would just order it without a bun (then they'd think you're on Atkins), so you're not wasting a bun and so it's easier to just plop it onto your own bun.

It's not just you. Not only do I think they are "not bad" I actually think they are REALLY good. I have no problem with them at all and quite like them, but to each their own.

Wouldn't bother me at all.

If someone notices, they will talk about it with the people at the table and that's about it. And they might talk about you anyway because you wore the "wrong" shoes.

Do as you wish and don't worry about it. Obviously this isn't something that should interfere with anyone else's vacation at all.

I didn't mind the buns.

Hey...remember the thread with the woman that checked all the buns on the veggie burgers? Maybe she was really checking to see if any of them were onion? She should have just brought her own!

I think it's plenty weird. You should totally do it!

(Although I can't help but think that I wouldn't want to be responsible for carrying around a bag of hamburger buns and keeping them in tact all day.)

You have got to be kidding me, this thread is still alive?
How much more can possibly be said about a hamburger bun?

To sum it up, the OP really prefers onion rolls for a hamburger.
Whether or not you personally like the regular rolls or would never bother bringing rolls into the park, does not matter.
It's important to the OP.

Now, OP, please carefully pack an onion roll in a crush-proof container and bring it with you to use for your burger. Nobody will see or care. ;)

Thank you and good evening.

I wouldn't say it's that weird. Not any weirder than sitting on the curb eating corn out of a can ;)

Four pages later, and I'm still waiting to find who exactly was sitting on a curb eating corn out of a can??!?! So many questions--was it a giant can or one of those little niblets ones? Were they eating with their fingers or a utensil? Or maybe just tipping the can and pouring the corn into their mouth? Was it cooked? Raw?

I NEED TO KNOW!!!!:rotfl:

Would it be weird if I packed my own hamburger bun and switched them out once I got my burger?

Since you asked, I think it's a little weird but, if it makes you happier while on vacation, who cares? ;)

:thumbsup2

Really OP...who cares?! I wouldn't even notice or care. My DH (who is gluten intolerant) just said.. "Why hadnt WE thought of that?" Enjoy your burger- however you want to eat it!

I've heard that the hamburger buns at WDW are so-so at best. Would it be weird if I packed my own hamburger bun and switched them out once I got my burger? I am a huge fan of the onion roll, it makes my burger, but I don't want to be 'that' person if it's going to be weird.:scared1: We only plan on having burgers twice or so on a 10 day vacation.

Thanks!

I don't think the buns are that bad to warrant carrying rolls with you.
