your wedding.

The big win in the Euro Lottery at the weekend got me thinking (unfortuantely i didnt win it:mad:).

If money was absolutely no object and you offered a rediculous amount (say $5-$10m) to have MK just for yourself and family for the day of your wedding would they will close it to general public?

I dont think they would - however, people do say "everything has its price"?

You can have the park to yourself in the evening. The MK is more expensive then the other parks. I have heard a few different quotes but it's a couple hundred thousand. I know big companies do it from time to time.

I think it would be so awesome to close it and invite a ton of underprivleged kids who couldn't otherwise ever afford to go to disney.

I thought you could only have a very early morning ceremony in MK? and that was just at the dock.

Nice idea about the kids - but in my fantasy world Im thinking just my wedding party :rotfl2:

If you buy the park out I would assume you could do anything you want as far as a ceremony location and time.

If you just do the $28K deal or whatever it is you do have to have it on that landing before the park opens. You don't have the whole park though it's just that one spot for a half hour or so. AND there are regular day guests in the park going to breakfast and whatnot so it's not even like you have the place to yourself.

I know Sams Club had a deal a few months back where you could get married in front of the castle during the day.

I always wondered this too, as its something I dream of doing. If only those numbers would come out for me :)

They were the last to be able to do that :headache:

The MK used to do night weddings but now because of all of the extended hours they don't allow it (unless you rent the park out).

Also supposedly the MK used to have a catering department which was disassembled after this wedding. Thats DFTW current excuse for not allowing similar weddings.

I know, but it's still pretty impressive.

thanks for sharing that website, I'll have to read it at work as it doesn't like macs!

i know when i was at disney in january they closed epcot at 7pm one night because some company bought out the park. People could not even get in line for the rides after 6pm, there was no public illuminations viewing either. It was all shut down and reserved for the private party. To tell you the truth it kind of sucked. Thousands of people including DH and me flew in and spent a lot of money and that was our EPCOT day and they just cancelled it because there was a higher bidder. But I guess thats how companies work, I just thought disney might care a little more.

I know if I had that kind of money, I would want to rent out a park for my wedding, but I'd want MGM. My fiance proposed to me under the Osbourne Lights, so it would be cool to exchange our vows there. I'd also love to be able to fly my loved ones in and have them stay on site.

When I worked at Epcot in 2003, the whole park was bought out for the day by a corporate firm. I remember that the B52s played on the stage in futureworld. I remember seeing lots of angry guests at the International Gateway.

We were told (as CMs) that if any of us were spotted in future world during the event, we'd be fired. All the World Showcase pavillions were completely closed (even to the private event), so many of the shops and restaurants used the day for staff training, bonding etc. I remember the chef at the Rose and Crown made us all lunch, it was pretty cool.
