We're planning a trip for next fall, our very first to WDW!

Our youngest DS will be a little over 3 years old by then, and he loves the water and swimming (with floaties on his arms of course ;) ). He's fairly outgoing and not timid, and loved going on the little coaster in Toontown at DL over and over again. Plus, he wants to do everything his big brother does (who will be a little over 7 by then), so we're trying to find a pool with a slide that they'll both enjoy.

I was wondering - do kids that age (3 or so) like the big clown slide at the BW?

Is it too scary for them? Too fast? Or would a 3 year old like it?

Thanks everyone. :wave2:

Good question! I've been trying to research the answer for this one myself. I'm torn between the BC and the BW and have children close to the same age as yours. (3 will be 4 by trip, and 8).

My 4 year old daredevil loved it! We did put a life jacket on him though because its rough water at the end of the slide and he isn't the best of swimmers.

His first water slide was at the Contemporary at age 3.

My DS was 3 when we stayed at the BW for the first time. He's 4 1/2 now and still talks about the slide!!! He wanted to go there for his 5th birthday, so we are. Personally the slide at BW is MUCH better for little ones than the slide at SAB. You can wear arm floaties at BW and can't at SAB. The slide at SAB is rather rough IMO. You can't wait for little ones at the bottom of the slide at SAB, you get yelled at by the lifeguards, you can stand to the side at BW.

When my 5 year old was 3, he loved it. He was like your son...wanted to keep up with older brothers. Keep an eye on them and ENJOY!

Personally, I think the slide at BWI is too tall and fast for a 3 year old. Now, if your 3 year old is a daredevil type, maybe they'd be ok on it. I have been on this slide myself numerous times and it turns several times and the water is quite fast and rough near the end. You can wait for your child off to the side a little, but I would be afraid to send a 3 yo down it. I think 5 or older is better.
