Worth using a Q&C voucher at MK?

I've been checking out MK's menus and am not sure if its worth spending a 11.25$ voucher. Are the fries that come with the combo counter type meals considered the "side" or will they allow you a soup, salad, bread or chili on the side. Anyone use these lately and know for sure? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

Date: 9/24/2003
Amount: $22.50
Payment: Prepaid
Vendor: Pecos Bill $28.26
Country: United States
Details:
I got a salad, fries, lemonade, and piece of chocolate cream pie. Stu got chicken wrap, fries, soda, and piece of chocolate cream pie. Bill came to $28.26, the vouchers saving us $5.76. Without vouchers, would have ordered: salad, 2 lrg sodas, wrap, probably split a piece of pie (were starving). Would have cost $19.45 W/O dessert, $23.16 with dessert. Saved $0.66 over what we would have ordered (but we got more food w/vouchers).

Beatnik

We used one at Pecos Bills too. I got the Chicken wrap, fries, drink and chocolate cake and we did save a little. If I did not have the voucher, I would have settled on something cheaper, just the wrap and ordered water. It is nice to have some of the food prepaid for. We actually came home with money in our pockets because we had 4 vouchers. Not a whole lot but it helped.

we are planning on a double burger and fries...split the burger, add a bowl of soup or an extra bun or another side and 2 meals for just a little more than the price of a voucher...with no shipping at hotwire what have you got to lose even if you only save a few bucks?

For the most part you will save 1-5 dollars, depending upon what and where you order. In some cases you could lose a dollar or two. Casey's you will lose money, Columbia Harbor House a dollar to two savings, Pecos Bill a dollar or two savings. I have found the CM's at MK to be the most rigid when it comes to ordering with the vouchers. If the meal comes with fries, that is your side dish. If you are going for a 2 week vacation saving 1-5 on each meal can add up, if it is for a day or two it may not be worth the hassle.

We used ours at Cosmic Rays.

We used three vouchers for a family of four (2 adults and two children sharing one voucher)

I got Chicken Ceasar salad, cream of chicken soup, large ice/tea (or lemonade.. can't remember?), and a brownie. The chicken ceasar salad alone was almost $8, the soup was $3 or more, drink about $2, and the brownie was $2.50. (with tax it was about $15)

My hubby got a stacked sandwich, soup, large drink and the brownie...

My kids got a cheesesteak, soup, and the drink also a brownie.

I think the grand total was in the $42/43 range. I was extremely full after the salad, adn the soup was really good, even though i couldn't finish it.

Has anyone asked them to leave off the fries and add a chili instead on the voucher? We get so tired of fries after a couple of days! It seems that I remember ordering just the sandwich not the meal, but it's been awhile since we were there.:D

You can substitute fries for a fruit cup.. i did that at Electric Umbrella with no problems.

How was the cheesesteak? Was it tender? I get burgered and chicken fingered out midway of the trip.

Thanks and have a nice night.

My husband just got the cheesesteak last week from Cosmic Ray's when we went and it was good. He added some mushrooms and onions from the toppings bar. I was surprised at how good it was....at least the one bite that I got. ;)

Sorry... just found this!

Actually, its hard to compare for us since we are from.. cheesesteak is a local speciality.

But the kids ate it, they were happy with it, and they either put tomatos and lettuce on it, or peppers/onions on it.. (can't remember)

I had a cheesesteak later at Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge. If they prepared it the same way at Cosmic Rays, it was fine for me. Fine, meaning not tough bread, decent meat, and good flavor. It wasn't straight off the hot trays in Gino's in South Philly (where you see it cooked in front of you...!), but since I do live where I live, it is hard to compare.

Considering it was in Florida not South Philly.... it was really good.
