Worth the time?

Wondering how long you spend at the table service? Is the "experience" and food worth the time away from attractions and shows? We are going the 2nd week in February when the parks have shorter hours-close by 8 or 9.

Tables normally "turn over" in 45 minutes at a Disney restaurant. Maybe a little bit longer for Signature dining.

Dining can be an attraction in itself at Disney: think of character meals and some of the themed restaurants like Whispering Canyon Cafe or Ohana.

If you want sit down meals and are concerned with the time it takes then consider character breakfasts right at 8am on a non extra magic hour day. You'll be out in plenty of time for park opening.

We always go at slow times of the year, and a TS meal is an essential part of our day. When you're trying to cram everything into such a short touring day, having that 45 minutes off your feet and in AC can, for us, be just the break we need without hitting the hotel for a swim instead. And since so many of them are entertainment in and of themselves, I personally never feel like I'm missing a thing. :)

How long is your trip? If it's for less than 5 days, the time spent at sit-down meals may not be worth "sacrificing". Are you willing to skip some attractions and shows if you have to? Also, are you staying on property? If you are, even though the parks have shorter hours, there are still the Extra Magic Hours available to resort guests in which to see and experience some of the best attractions without major crowds. Analyze what works best for your trip, and have a great time! :)

The other alternative is to schedule some of your ADRs at the resort hotel nearest to the park you're going to be in that day. This works well on the dates when the parks are not open so long. We're doing Boma at 6.00 on our AK day, Ohana's on our MK day etc. That way you don't 'waste' park time, but still get a table service meal

We find eating at TS such a nice break. It makes you slow down a little and we enjoyed unwinding in a nice cool place. If you're pressed for time, consider some of the buffets. They tend to be a little noiser but you control how long you stay. We tend to linger at TS so we're usually there for about an hour.
