Hi, I'm new here! Well, new to saying anything; I've been reading them for a few weeks, hehe :)

My family is taking our first ever trip (leaving in 4 days!!!), and since we doubt we'll spend much time at the resort, we're staying in ASMu. I don't know which section is which, but I was wondering if it's worth it to upgrade to a preferred room. My brain is on overload, and I've seen so many conflicting reviews. Some say preferred rooms are noisier; others say the opposite.

Like I said, we won't be there for much more than sleeping, and showering, but considering it's only $10...any opinions on which would be the best choice? I know absolutely nothing, and would really appreciate any help :)

I've stayed in the preferred and non-preferred rooms. All preferred rooms are not noisy because you may not have one right there by the pools. Ours was back a little bit, actually. Honestly, I don't see what was preferred about it - LOL! The advantage to having it is if you plan to walk a bunch, it might be nice to be a little closer to the bus stop. I know when we went once and stayed in the Broadway rooms, I would have loved to have been a building or two closer - my feet hurt! Anyway, it all depends on your preference but keep in mind that preferred doesn't always mean those rooms right there in the first few buildings right by the pool.

If I were you, I'd put in a a request for Jazz and save the $10 a night for dinner or something. It's the next set of buildings beyond the preferred and not much more of a walk.

But if you really want to be closest to the food court and all, then get the preferred because there's no guarantees you'll get Jazz and may end up down at the end of the resort!!!

Hope this doesn't end up confusing you more!! :p
