Worth it to stay onsite?

We are platinum level which gives me a suite upgrade if one is available when I book as well as a $100 food and beverage credit per stay. So if I stayed one night at the Portofino and one night at the Royal Pacific, I would get $100 food/beverage credit for each stay. Hard Rock does not participate in the program.

Is this the YouFirst program I found at that link? I wonder if it was changed. I was going to sign up until I read the *fineprint that says "Offer not available at Orlando hotels." Shoot!

The "pick a perk" offer isn't available at the Orlando Loews hotels but the youfirst program still is. Hard Rock isn't a Loews hotel.

I don't normally like going 'commando' on a vacation and feel like I have to see everything in the park in a day or two but I am making an exception this time only because my daughter asked if we could go for a day or two to Universal studios (Those damn commercials) LOL

On a side note,I haven't been to universal studios in almost 20 years and it does look very cool.

I am a crazy "commando" touring person at WDW. I am all about getting there at the crack of dawn, planning my touring to work with FastPasses.

The one thing that really struck me about touring with the Unlimitted Express Pass was that the only "commando" type touring I needed to do was WWoHP. The early entry privilege and some planning made WWoHP a wonderful experience. I did my research for the rest of IoA and US but was really able to not be in commando touring mode. We used the pass where ever available and had little no lines, used it as much as we wanted to. We rode the Mummy ride five times in a row with little wait. There was no rushing to one ride to get a pass and then high-tailing to the other side of the park to get to another ride. Then back to the other side of park to use the pass. It was a really nice perk that pretty much spoiled me to stay on-site everytime now.

This was me too. DH was thrilled at not having to do any type of commando touring. As you said, only WWOHP required any planning. We did Discovery Cove and Sea World on the same trip and they were relaxing experiences as well. I think the whole relaxed feel of our trip was a huge part of what caused DH to declare it our best family vacation ever.
