We have never been to Universal before. I am thinking of adding a couple days there for our trip this summer. My then 14 year old daughter is a huge ride weenie! Would it be worth the time? Are there enough "tame" rides for us to go on? She is afraid to go as she thinks it's all thrill rides.

(She's not into Harry Potter either so that's not a draw.)

Thanks for your advice/help.

there are rides and shows that will appeal to all ride weenies.

go to www.universalorlando.com and check out the website for the rides, shows and parks.

even ride weenies love to go on the mummy ride.

in many of the ride ques, part of the ride, is the line. it explains the story in some cases.

spiderman, dr doom, hulk, mummy, mib, simpsons are the ones that come to mind right now to me.

last year, i did not do the Hulk or Dueling Dragons, which are considered thrill rides, and did not miss them.

I am a 40 year old ride weenie and i LOVE US and IOA both. At US i have rode everything except for HRR(you will never get me on a outdoor rollerCoaster). And at IOA im a fan of NOT getting wet and RollerCoasters. and i had plenty to do. When my party is on a ride like the hulk or Dueling Dragons i will either shop near the ride or i will find a semi quiet spot and read while they are on. (because most of the people in my party are riders and not shoppers, so perfect excuse for me to shop)

That being said that the first time on some of the rides (The Mummy). I was scared to get on but once on i liked it. So, just know that there will be plenty of rides and shows to do.

I am a certified ride chicken and I love US/IOA. The only things I won't ride are:

US - The new rollercoaster (Rip, Ride Rockit?) and the Simpsons (made me motion sick).

IOA - Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Dr. Doom and Storm Acceleron (sp? - think teacups). I do have to close my eyes on the down part of Spiderman, but I love the ride. I think its one of the best in Orlando.

There is plenty there for me to see and do there and I always have a good time.

I'm a fellow ride weenie, and I loved it there! It helped that we stayed at the Royal Pacific on site, I loved the boat ride over (with the song "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang playing constantly) I loved all the theming, restaurants, shopping, characters, shows, and I did go on rides like Shred 4D and Men in Black, (my personal fav. we went on this over and over with our front of the line passes!) not to mention City Walk where you can enjoy entertainment and great restaurants! Go and enjoy yourself!!
