worth 2 TS credits?

Well, if you don't have kids with you, Spirit of Aloha is NOT worth 2 TS.
We liked Hoop-de-Doo, and I'd say that is worth 2 TS.

As far as straight restaurants go, we went to California Grill for Wishes and also went to Artist Point. The food at California Grill was definitely worth it - but nothing else about that place was. Our waiter was horrid, and our wait was quoted at 30-45 minutes, with our ADR, but we actually waited over an hour to be seated, when there were some empty tables AND definitely ones that were better than the one we eventually got! The waiter brought us drinks about 15 minutes after sitting down, we got our bread AFTER our appetizers arrived.... ayyyy. But, the food was seriously delicious. Thinking about the goat cheese ravioli, I still have my mouth watering 2 months later.... Even though our dinner lasted over 3 hours, when we normally are in and our in less than 1 1/2 and we missed Illuminations, the food was good, just not worth going through that hassle, because we were so angry and irate the whole time.
Artist Point, on the other hand.... well we don't eat seafood so I can't tell you about any of that, and their specialty is the Salmon... but the food we had was good, DBF highly recommends their berry cobbler - his favorite dessert of the trip. Our waitress, Pok, was simply the best waitstaffer we've EVER encountered anywhere. I would go back there in a heartbeat.

Of the others, Jiko is supposed to be fantastic, too. We did Boma instead, which was very noisy but I got my fix then. A ton of people really like Narcoossee's, too.

I think both California Grill and Citricos are well worth it. I love both. Unlike the previous poster, we've had excellent service each time we've gone. I can't wait to go back. Next time, I plan to watch Wishes at CG.

I prefer Boma over Jiko by a lot. I've had great food at CA Grill, Artist Point, and Brown Derby, (though Brown Derby is cheap enough (for Disney anyway,) that I'd rather pay OOP then use two TS credits.) Citricos is also good though I was dissapointed with the dessert I had there.

I think California Grill and Narcoossee's are both worth it. :goodvibes As far as seeing Wishes, we actually preferred the view from Narcoossee's. Plus, the ypipe in the music AND dim the lights.

Unlike previous poster we had a great server last time at CG. (Unlike our first meal there in Sept. 05-server was just so-so). The food is very good, but I wish they would still dim the lights :confused3

The only other 2 TS we've done is HBD-and no, this isn't a good value for the credits used but my DM really likes their Cobb Salad. The next time we do HBD, we'll pay OOP. We had a wonderful meal there last Sept. My tuna dinner (rare Ahi) was one of the best (and the biggest) rare tunas I have had. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

If it'll help, I reviewed the above 3 from our last trip on my TR (link in signature)

I've been wanting to try Citricos and Artists Point. Maybe next trip. :goodvibes But we will definitely eat at Narccoossee's again. :cloud9:

We ate at HDDR in Dec. 2003 and didn't really like it that much. Personally, I wouldn't use 2 TS for it. My DD (then 3) thought it was very funny though :rotfl2: The food was just okay. First serving was barely warm. Even though the room wasn't full, we were packed in like sardines (the performers could barely get through). JMHO

we think narcoosees is worth the 2 TS

ate there twice in one week this past september (crab cakes, lobster, almond crusted cheesecake)

going back again in october, planning 2 more dinners

we like the atmosphere in the restaurant, the beautiful views (we go early for dinner, not for the night fireworks), and it's a bit quieter without any character interaction - we like it

I have been wanting to try Narcoossee's for a while now. The problem is that we usually try to limit our Signature restaurants to one on each trip so as to maximize our credits. But we are going for ten days the next time we go, so I think we can treat ourself to two Signatures! We were going to go to CA Grill to watch Wishes, but maybe we'll do that at Narcoossee's and pick another Signature.

Which reminds me, what about Flying Fish? Anyone been and if so, is it worth it?

Are there any exclusions on the DDp at Narcoossee's? Also, does anyone know what the breakdown person per day is on cost of the DDP? If I remember it was something like $38 adults and $11 kids...is that still right?

No exclusions at Narcoossee's :goodvibes . When we ate there in Sept. our server was quick to point out that we could get lobster (either surf 'n turf or whole Maine). Both my DM and I ordered the S 'n T. Sorry, don't know the current cost but that sounds about right.

(I have a link below with Narcoossee's review)

I don't think any of the restaurants are worth 2TS. A meal at, say, 50s Prime Time Cafe or Spoodles is worth a certain amount, and none of the meals at any of the signature restaurants are really worth double that amount (IMHO).

Bicker, I respect you and agree with just about everything you say, but this time I will have to disagree.
For my family on the dining plan, here are our totals...

1 credit restaurants -
Boma = $112
50's PTC = $121
Chef Mickeys = $126

2 credit restaurants -
Yachtsman = $239
Cali Grill = $ 215
Jiko = $228

With LeCellier 1 credit, it was a great bargain with the bill $186
I know there are other exceptions like Spoodles, Coral Reef, etc., but for us it worked out just great!

The Flying Fish at the Boardwalk was WONDERFUL. Our server, Bob, was the best! We are going in October and will definately eat there again. We are also going to try Yachtsmans Steakhouse at the Beach Club.

The two that come to mind are Jiko and Flying Fish. We had excellent meals and excellent service at both, and since they are very expensive we felt they were well worth the 2 TS credits.

Last trip 2005 we tried,

Artist Point
California Grill
Yatchman Steakhouse

We felt they were worth 2 ts credits. Great meals and very good service.

I don't have actual totals, because I didn't visit any 2TS this time, but the menus were very telling for me:

50s Prime Time Cafe: $7.49+$16.99+$7.49+$2=$33.97 plus tax and tip
Jiko: $9+$29+$8+$2=$48 plus tax and tip

So 2TS is worth about one and a half, not two, credits. I don't see how you could get your totals without including items that are not included in the Dining Plan.

The totals I gave were directly from my reciepts. I guess it would depend on what you will actually order, because for us it went more like this....

50's Prime Time Cafe: $5.99+$14.99+$4.99+$2=$27.97 plus tax and tip
Jiko: $10+$34+$8+$2 =$54 plus tax and tip
