Well, this also wasn't at Disney but I opened a door with a key and saw another couple SLEEPING!!! Actually, I just saw feet, then closed the door as quietly as I could. Scary!

HMM - someone needs to call Mousekeeping at the Poly and have them look for goldfish crumbs. :rotfl2:

We too found a bunch crumbled under the bed in our room.

mildew in crevices at the Poly shower and lovely BROWN smudges on the wallpaper near the toilet - yuck! We were switching rooms anyway but I would have asked if not.

Also - I thought mousekeeping was so poor that trip, I actually put a lipstick dot on one of the corner of the towels and put it on the counter undone. It was back on our towel rack when we got back. gross!!

Our other stays were great though at OKW and CR - no complaints at all.

That happened to my family in New Jersey. We were in our room and unpacking when another family opened the door and walked in. The hotel was aweful. :sad2:

I have found someone elses clothes hung in the closet at the Poly.

The absolute WORST was a "used" pornographic magazine in a drawer. :sad2: THAT was a difficult complaint to "explain" to guest services. "Good evening sir, there is a disgusting magazine in our bedside nightstand, could you please have someone remove it" YUCK!

DH and I were staying at a Radisson in NJ (DH had a conference and I tagged along) and when we returned to our room after dinner someone had used the shower :confused3 The shower walls were wet and there was a wet towel on the floor. Our luggage was not touched. Freaky :scared1:

This was at the Disneyland Hotel, we checked in went to our room my daughter opened the door ran in the room and when we got there she was standing in the middle of someone else’s stuff, suitcases in various states of un-packed ness, very expensive camera equipment on the bed. We did not enter the room and had her come out and called the front desk from a house phone. After explaining the situation we were asked to wait for a bellman to come and get our luggage and take us to another room.

Now the good part, we ended up in a two-bedroom suite in the Bonita tower over looking dancing waters.

we found a paper clip at the BC-that's it

i just got back from the WL last weekend-we stayed for 5 days and i will say that everyday our room was spotless after mousekeeping came in. my son is 2 and dropped grapes all over. my mom has a cleaning business and every morning she would note just where the grapes were & if they were picked up when we got back-the hardest ones to get were behind the table in the room, and they were gone. so i guess it just depends on who you get& how well they do

I am soooo gonna get flamed for this, but I can't imagine EVER having my son drop grapes all over the place and then "take note" of where they are to see if housekeeping cleaned them up!!!!! I'd be on my hands and knees picking them up myself with my son helping me! I do the same thing in restaurants if my children had been unusually messy. No wonder Mousekeeping has such a hard time cleaning so much.

Back when the POR was the Dixie Landings DH & I stayed in the hotel for all of 3 hours (dropping off the bags, changing clothes, headed to the park, back to the hotel that night).

When we really finally inspected our room we found USED condoms (one in the trash can which I found only because I was throwing something away & one in a draw!), a really raunchy porn mag in a draw, and the sheet had a yellow crusty stain on it. EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!

It was the most disgusting experience of my life. I had never had one like it in any hotel before & thankfully all trips after that to Disney World were wonderful & "yuck" free.

We were so grossed out, we grabbed our things & headed to the front desk. The desk CM & manager did not even seem to care & said the hotel was full so there was nothing they could do except have someone come & clean up the yuck.

We got into our car & started driving around as I called Disney hotels to find us something else. We got a room at the Poly. When we checked in we told the CM what had happened at the DXL & who we had talked to. She was so upset for us they checked us in for free & comped our entire hotel stay! The manager of the Poly even called us the next day to apologize for our DXL experience & it was not even his fault! No one from the DXL even apologized when we told them about it!

Never went back to the DXL & wont stay there now that it is POR. But we love every other hotel we have stayed at since & even love the POFQ. But there is no way we are going to the POR. To many "crusty" memories.

1BR at Disney's OKW... discovered at check-in... a used condom inside a drawer, as well as a couple of empty beer bottles and wet cigarette butts in the clean kitchen trash bin. It had to be intentional to leave that in a drawer rather than in the trash as well. Pretty nasty. Some calling card. :sad2:

This was a few years ago, a points stay for DVC guests (women friends). I was checking-in to the adjoining studio lock-off. We were all disturbed by the health risk. We waited for housekeeping to come and "dispose" of everything with their gloves and disinfectant cleaner, then reclean the entire room. The housekeeping supervisor apologized profusely and provided for full daily housekeeping for the stay.

We all wondered if someone (maint? security?) with access to the room had used it after it had been cleaned from the previous guests because everything else "looked" clean but it really wasn't, was it? That's a creepy thought. I guess it could happen anywhere. Don't really care to think about that too much. :rolleyes1

Omigosh, lclark0621, I can't believe we posted similar experiences at the same time! Ewwwww!!!

What is with people putting used condoms in drawers!??!

Seriously! What is wrong with putting it in the trash can?

It's as if I wrote this myself! I couldn't agree more. :rotfl:

I have had this happen at the ASSpo but I was the family unpacking. A family walked into our room and was quite rude about the situation. I didn't really think it was that big of a deal. I told them that we had just check-in they should go back to the lobby and find out what was going on. They wouldn't leave the room!!! Well I wasn't about to leave w/ my stuff in the room so I had to call down and someone came right up w/ their new room and key!!! We were given a free dinner because of it!
I have also found what my 4 yy DD likes to call a "Mommy Diaper" used mind you under the bed! I always check there first now!!!!

Ya think that gave you a jolt? We were staying at the Hyatt Grand Cypress a few years ago, opened the door :wave2: and found a couple on the bed...completely starkers!! :earseek: right in the middle of a passionate act! , well could have been the end of a passionate act...lol.
Went back down to request another room that had fresh linens.

How about a person??? We checked into WL just after Christmas a few years ago and walked into our room as a man rushed past us in the hallway. All of our mouths were on the floor. He had been napping on the bed and we could still smell his colgne after he ran out. The bellman tried(?) to get us another room but there were none available. (I still have a little trouble with that). They sent housekeeping immediately and recleaned our room and reissued our room keys but it freaked me out for the remainder of our stay. Actually, it still gives me the shivers to write about it!

YUCK!

Lynn I see you have been at the CR several times, did you like it there??

We have enjoyed our stays at the CR. I admit it is a bit dated, and not really "contemporary" anymore, but it is still a nice hotel.

Our last morning at the BC before we left on the cruise last time, we found the most horrifying thing laying on the floor just inside the front door...

...the bill.
