Worst Room View Pics Thread

ugadog99 - it must have been noisy too being near those a.c units, I would have been so upset since I enjoy sitting out on my balcony early in the am with my coffee

Oh and even better...right beyond the ac units is a crescent shaped parking lot that the BUSES use for turn around! So, ac units and buses...it was LOVELY!

You poor thing, that is so miserable. :sad1:
Did they not offer to move you to a room where you could actually enjoy sitting on your balcony?
We were in a one bed in that area and if you looked out of the side window of the sitting area that was the view we had. We just shut the blinds and thankfully the view from the main balcony looked over the water.
Debsx:hug:

We were only there for 4 nights, so I didn't ask to move. That was just one of many reasons we didn't like OKW and won't be returning.

Looks like you were in the same building we were in at OKW. I posted these awhile back. We were in room 5020 in November. Our balcony view was a 4 lane highway. :sad2: So I feel for ya!

Yep, I do believe we were in the same building. It was pretty icky. Add to that all the other issues and OKW is now off our list of resorts.

I didn't think there could be any bad views at the Polynesian, but I got one! I got a great upgrade from garden view to concierge level garden view in Hawaii, room 3521, but my room view was non-existent:

Yeah, I would not have minded this view at The Poly. NOt my first choice, of course, but still kind of cool - like being in a treehouse or something.

Agreed! It was not what I pictured for the Poly, but I made up for it this year when I stayed TPV at the Poly and had the room of my dreams! The worst room views at the Poly were the other side of TUvalu facing Fiji...I'd take my tree view over those views any day!

Beacuse we got married at Disney, we got one free room night at any resort of our choice....we chose the WL. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for this view!

OMG that was our view!!! Walked in, walked right back out & down to the front desk. Sorry, no comp upgrades so we paid for a woods view. Instead of looking at the dumpster, we got the 6th floor so the balcony was IN a dumpster!!! Great castle view but you had to stand to see it. Mgr did end up comping the upgrade though so I guess I can't complain!

Oh Gosh! This pics are making me nervous. We are staying at the Poly for a week in Jan for the Marathon. Our running group (for a charity) got a rate of $179 a night. At first I was overjoyed, but after seeing these pics we will probably be put out in the parking lot next to 20 HVAC units:mad:

We are definitely not getting first rate views for that price. Here's hoping for the best!

It's always a nagging thought when I book a room that it will turn out to have an awful view.

But, on the other hand, how much time do you really spend looking out your window/balcony?

This thread is hilarious -- everyone's very good-natured about it. When we go on our first family trip this Sept., hope not to have any fodder to post here when we get back.

(Actually, I quite dig that Poly - Hawaii view. Nice and secluded. Like someone said, no chance of anyone seeing you naked -- or, in our case, causing anyone to projectile vomit.)

FWIW, we thought we had a horrible view when we stayed at WL in April 2008. We had a "woods view" which consisted of some woods and mostly parking lotfrom our balcony. But much to our surprise, that night we were able to see Wishes fireworks in the distance almost clearly, despite a few random branches here and here... I was ok with price of our room view and the priceless view after that!! :thumbsup2

This is a great thread! Can't wait to see more horrible views, though hoping I don't get any. I will be staying in AKL CL, 4th Floor. Seeing all the horrible views from AKL makes me nervous!!

Ok this thread has officially scared me!! Im staying at OKW and I dont wanna wake up to A/C units :scared1:
