Worst ride/show/exhibit

Like many others, my vote would be Sounds Dangerous. I really enjoy Country Bears and would hate to see it go. And as annoying as the Tiki Birds are, we always go to see them.

My worsts are:
MK- I did HATE Alien Encounter, but I'll see how I feel once they redo it
Epcot- Living Seas
MGM- Sounds Dangerous
AK- Pocahontas
.

I heard they are not redoing Alien Encounter. It is closed for good and Lilo and Stitch are replacing it...that's what I heard.

I think the worst is Tarzan Rocks! I loved Tarzan but this is a lame show and no one can replace Phil Collins its probably better not to try.

Worst show/exhibit - I have one candidate per park for consideration:

Epcot: El Rio de Tiempo - this ride is screaming "update me"

:earseek:

I TOTALLY agree with El Rio de tiempo!!! omg, I went on this last year and I was laughing hysterically at how poorly done it was with all the tv screens showing "pre-tourism Mexico" (men dancing around in grass skirts) and "post-tourism Mexico" (very 1980's looking women in bikini's and speed boats). Is this all Mexico has to offer??

While I had an amusing time on the ride, I don't think this was quite the reaction Disney would encourage....

Here's what I think needs to go at each park:
MK - The sub lagoon - the ride isn't there and it doesn't look like it will return so refurb the whole area and give us something new! (Getting rid of the Speedway will just put more people on other lines anyway).
EPCOT - Wonders of Life Pavilion - it's like totally 80's!
DS - Great Movie Ride - although it does have some appeal in that it's air conditioned.
AK - Rafiki's Planet Watch - we went, we saw, we were underwhelmed.

I would have to agree with The Great Movie Ride. It seems so outdated. With the hijacking of the train, to me it is not very entertaining.

But I will say with it having A/C and sitting down that is a plus. But whatever replaces it will also have the same benifts.

At MK, I'd agree it's the speedway. It's in Tomorrowland, what's futuristic about it and it is loud and sprawling.

At MGM, I'd also agree that Sounds Dangerous is a joke! I was so disappointed.

At Epcot - the new Journey into Imagination ride. I liked the original but since they started dickering with it, I think it's ridiculous. Also, Ice Station Cool. I think it's an eye sore.

Animal Kingdom - I'm not too thrilled with that tacky area...I forget what it's called. You know, with the rides and games. I think it was a cheap cop-out way to come up with a new "land" or "section."

P.S. I love the country bears!

I think Chester & Hester's Dynorama (I think that's what it's called) is meant to be a cheesey carnival type atmosphere- a diversion from the other sections of AK. I don't think Disney was being cheap. It think they really underestimated the crowds' appreciation of the theming. It's okay, nothing special. I do like Primevil Whirl though. Fun ride.

P.S. I too love the Country Bears. :D

i have to say that snow white is a major disappointment. i can remember that being my first ride ever in wdw and crying b/c it was so scary and u never saw snow white on it. also that boat ride in the animal kingdom that went around the park. i did it once and it was a major waste of time.

While I definately agree tha Snow White and the race cars should be gone in MK, I would like them to do something with the old 20,000 leagues first. That has been empty for sooo long...what would anyone want to see there?

I agree with tink61, snow whites scary adventure has always puzzled me. It's too scary for young children and too silly for older kids. Why not fill that ride with the 7 dwarfs and make it bright and happy, similar to dumbo's flight and it's a small world. It's a strange ride.

I'll take this opportunity to propose a Mary Poppins ride to fill that space. You fly in umbrella vehicles around London (a la Peter Pan) watching the scenes from the movie.

Before we start saying how awful we think some attractions are, we should try and think back to the very first time we saw those attractions and remember how wonderful and magical we thought they were then. Most people that are WDW are not there for the umteenth time (like me!!) and don't have the same feeling about some attractions like I do. I think its just a case of we seen them one too many times! Even though I think some are kinda lame now, my trip is not complete unless I see them one more time though. I do have to agree about Sounds Dangerous, I've only seen it once and thought is was pretty lame. Same thing about COP. Only have seen it once but thought it was pretty boring. Maybe it's because it got stuck in the last room and that song kept playing over and over again for about 30 min until they got it going again. I thought I'd go insane! I think I can still hear that song from 4 years ago!! Needless to say when we were there in April we weren't sad that it wasn't open!

My 3yo is a Snow White and Dwarf fanatic!! He'd be crushed if this ride disappears - he can actually lead us to it upon entering the park! The reason why you don't see Snow White in the ride (except for when you first enter and then again in the forest) is that you are supposed to be Snow White experiencing what is happening - I read that somewhere. I agree that it can have more dwarf time - a wild ride through the mine would be excellent! As for Mary Poppins, ummmm, not my personal favorite, but maybe they can stick that where the old skyride house is next to IASW. Another space being wasted...

For those of you that want the Speedway torn down for the space, before anything is dismantled Disney should make use of the space already available! The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is a prime example. If an attraction is shut down, the space should be used for the next new planned attraction (if it fits in the space, etc.).

As a kid, I loved the Speedway. Update it, yes. Tear it down, no. There is a reason why there's always long lines to ride it.

The River of Time ride in the Mexican pavillion is sorely in need of updating. With so much potential, it just seems like a cheaply done travel commercial to me.

My wife makes fun of me for this, but I love the Great Movie Ride. It's another example of where Disney should update sections, not necessarily get rid of the entire attraction. Just think of the marketing potential if they started to promote, rotate their own movies in the different sections!

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! I am totally with you on that one. I guess there may be some logistics problems with updating a section at a time. What do you do while you are updating a section? Do the cars still go through that section and see it..... what? covered, curtained, open, hmmmmmmm. Do you re-route the cars through the ride to skip it entirely?

Doesn't Spaceship Earth periodically update their sections or was that just an original idea they had? It's certainly possible.

I would think that well done, temporary sections could be put in place covering up construction of the new section.

Hey, it's Disney! They can do anything, right?!

Now, to start on my campaign to replace Eisner with myself...

:D

To me, the area where 20,000 Leauges Under the Sea was is a waste of spcae, even if characters sign autographs there. All that area and no attraction there. Maybe an attraction for Nemo would be good there.

I'm not a big fan of the Speedway, but when I was little, I thought it was awesome.
