Worst restaurants in WDW?

OMG! reading that story about the norwalk virus and chef mickey in Dec 2002 freaked me out cause we were supposed to be staying at CR for a week that december but it was during that big thing where so many cruises had brought Norwalk to WDW and with my immune system we decided to cancel the trip and go later in 2003 instead.

If we had gone we likely would have been there too! :earseek: we almost always do chef mickey on our trips, but after a bad experience last trip (cold food, curdled cream in coffee which i couldn't get another coffee for 20 minutes because i couldn't flag our server down) we'll likely skip it this trip.

that is scary! but i have to hand it to your man; sticking by you, he's gonna be a great dad to your sweet ds's who obviously appreciated his loving care as much as you did!!!

If you read this whole thread it is soooo funny to see how some peoples favorites are others' worst experiences. It cracks me up and reiterates the fact that we are all so different. That's why I will try whatever place I think I'll like, no matter what I have read here just because we are all different and every place has a bad day occasionally.

I completely agree! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Our opinions:

Not to be missed- Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki, the cantina at Mexico(outdoors), Le Cellier, Sci-Fi drive in (kids love it), Pizza Planet, Whispering Canyon (food OK, atmosphere great for kids, including me), breakfast at Chef Mickey's, Tangierine Cafe at Morocco

To be missed- Bistro de Paris(overpriced mediocre food), Narcossee's (overpriced, unromantic, and loud),

But as with everyone else, it is just an opinion! ::yes::

I know I am in the minority here but..................
I like Lecellier for lunch, and I love the cheddar cheese soup, had a steak sandwich which was great, this experience prompted me to make ps's for dinner on my next trip.............well never again, not for the price! I had a maple something steak with a tablespoon of potatoes hidden under the small steak! It was over $20.00 and that did not even include a salad, that would have added another $5.00 to the meal, go and ahead and call me cheap but I would have rather have eaten at an Outback!

We won't be going back to St.Angel in Mexico, love the atmosphere, hate the menu.
But we do love Le Cellier, Flying Fish, Sci Fi(it's so fun) and the foods ok too,Brown Derby, And the Plaza YUM.
:p

Agree that it is all personal choice.......................

My family loves:
Coral Reef in Epcot
Sci-Fi and Brown Derby in MGM
Fultons DTD

What we didn't like was:
Character breakfast in AK (Donald's)
Prime-Time Cafe in MGM
and Cindy's......yes I said it. Just was a very rushed and confusing atmosphere, which extended to the food...yuck!!!

sci fi: another loser for us. ...been there 3 times with either 4 of us in our group but last time just 2 of us. placed with another family whose kids tried to monopolize our conversations. no privacy when in a small group. food overpriced for what you get. some foods fine, majority of them for us were not tasty and disappointing in what it really was compared to what the menu stated or waiter described.

We had four of us the last time we ate there and they put us with another couple in a car for six. I didn't like that at all. If they can't fill the larger cars, they should get smaller ones. Two seaters would be nice for lots of people.

I think there are a couple of points missed here. Restraunts you like if you have young kids and then restraunts you like if you do not have kids with you.

We had terrible experiences at the following restraunts
Backyard BBQ very expensive over rated food aweful character interaction aweful.
The Lua food was aweful don't think any of us found a thing to eat even the drinks were aweful.
San Angel Inn no need to repeat I think the couple next to us was sitting on our lap that's how close the tables were and of coarse you needed night vision glasses to see if you got the correct entree.
Alfredo's very rude service and over rated food.

Places we LOVE
Chef Mickey We have gone to both breakfast and dinner not one time did we have character interaction less then 2 times. Yes it is loud and napkins are spinning around but I thought I was there paying the price to have character interaction. If I wanted a quiet dinner or breakfast I would choose another place. The service has been wonderful!! Yes there are spills that occur but let's remeber it is for kids, seats alot of people. If I want steak I would go to a steakhouse not McDonalds. Sorry to vent I just want to make sure you are getting all the information before making your choices.

But as a pre-view, we found Chef Mickey's to be awful. Limited things on the buffet for adults. Prime Rib carver slicing it as thin as deli roast beef. Presentation left a LOT to be desired.

And, since it is one of the pricer Character Meals, it is no longer on our "To Do List". It was going to be our first night tradition.

From what I am reading, I think Dining needs to do some housecleaning.

We love Yakigori House!! It's the one place where I feel like I can get a semi-nutritious meal at fast food prices. It's also similar to my cooking at home (what does that say about my cooking!)

Okay I have some time on my hands soooo...

Other favorites are Teppanyaki, Le Cellier, Liberty Tree for Dinner, Kona Café, Crystal Palace for Breakfast, Casey's for hotdogs, Beaches and Cream, Cindy's for bfast, Brown Derby, Dole Whips (we like the vanilla ice cream in pineapple juice floats)

We also like 50's prime time and Garden Grill (old menu), Tony's Town Square for Bfast (while CP was closed), fast food in China, fast food in Mexico, All Star food court food, Artist Point, Whispering Canyon, Tusker House, Rainforest Café, Cosmic Rays, Ohanas, Ghierdelli, donuts at the water parks and ice cream at Happy Landings in Typhoon Lagoon

So so were Restaurantasaurus, Chef Mickeys, The fish and chips stand in UK at Epcot, Sunshine Food Fair, Pizzafari, Pizza Planet, Columbia Harbour House, food court at Port Orleans, Evergreens and the Garden Gallery at Shades of Green (although the prices were good)

Major disappointments Beaver Tails (used to be a favorite thing now they are like cardboard) and Planet Hollywood, crowded loud mediocre food, bad service, charged an extra .75 for cheese on a chicken sandwich when the waiter asked if I wanted cheese on it. I know it's only .75 cents but that kind of thing really peeves me! The roaring forks food at WL was pretty bad too. Anandapur Ice Cream, the worst, slowest service I have ever had, anywhere! The ice cream was okay though!
