Worst Meal Ever????

Spoodles! Both times I went the food was extremely greasy and nasty. The first visit made me feel sick to my stomach (as well as two others in my group). The 2nd time I picked at my food and just gave up. Horrible IMO!

I wholeheartedly agree! We had a terrible meal at Spoodles on our last trip!

I'm really happy people won't be returning to LeCellier....I'll be able to make ADRs easier! :) There's a bright side to everything.

In Oct 06 I had a horrible dinner at Alfredo's. I ordered lamb and it was very overcooked and dried out. However, the rest of my party liked it. The only real problem was the waitress. When we sat down she asked if we were on the dining plan (yes). She then proceeded to offer the children (3) expensive drinks not covered by the plan. I was looking at the wine list and she PUSHED the most expensive wine on the list. I know wine and it wasn't the best one, but the most expensive. I'm happy its changing because I love Italian food and hope the new place is better.

June 2000 on our honeymoon...California Grill. We were NOT impressed. The only thing we really liked was the chocolate souffle. My DH's meal was ok, mine was downright gross. It was chicken with wild rice...well there was the chicken with this disgusting tasting green sauce that was rather lumpy and there was MAYBE a tablespoon of rice....that's it. Even my husband asked "where the heck is the rice?" That tablespoon's worth was sprinkled around the chicken so you only saw a few grains here and there. Looked like they used the rice more for garnish than actual food. So my meal was chicken with lumpy green sauce. Ugh. Fortunately for us, the meal was free as a gift from some family members. It's definitely not a place we'd pay to eat at. I noticed that the meals we had that night are no longer on the menu, so maybe it has changed for the better. Not quite willing to chance it, however.

Honestly it does take quite a bit for me to complain about food, I'm pretty content with anything served to me. So I was r eally surprised at how grossed out I was by the meal.

Donald's Breakfastasuarus! It was so gross!! When we were brought to our table in a section that they just seating people in we saw bugs scatter!! The service (maybe because we were in a corner) was horrible!! When we ordered the pictures it took over 30 minutes to get our change back and that was after we got up and tried to find the picture people. We did find them with the help of some wait staff and they were all sitting out back smoking. We were VERY upset and complained at the front desk when we got back to the hotel. We got $25 in Disney Dollars for our trouble but we paid over $150 for all of us to eat a bad breakfast.

Ditto! Worst meal ever was there. Bad bad service (he mixed up our drink order THREE TIMES & we were done & left before he even got it right), worse worse food! We barely could eat anything & all left feeling ill. I even had to tell them the cream cheese was warm & sour (and the bagels were still frozen in the middle!) They got snippy when we didn't want to shell out big bucks for the pics. The place was filthy. This was our 3rd & last time there (aren't they moving the AK character breakfast to another location?) Even the 2nd time we ate there we said never again, but last year we had the DDP & the kids begged to go. Mistake!

My DH wanted to eat there so we tried it. I was just going to get the shrimp apetizer as a meal, but we decided we'd split it and each get the "famous" cobb salad. Well, they bring us out a whopping two shrimp for the apetizer...this for $9! Then our salad came and we didn't know it was superfine chopped. So much so that the lettuce was wilted and gooey. We ate a few bites then my DH pushed his plate away and said "let's go get lunch!"

Most restaurants, and that does include Disney ones, want to do the right thing. Management wants things to go right, but even then, glitches do happen. Corporate and management want things to go well so much that several companies hire mystery shoppers to make sure that the average diner has a good experience.
I'm one of those shoppers.
Here are some tips to get the service and food quality you deserve.
1). Be polite. Always. Do not raise your voice.
2). Complain to the right person. First try the server. If the problem is the server, ask the host/hostess to have the manager come to your table. If that doesn't work, ask for the name and phone number of the person in Corporate who is responsible.
3). State the problem fully. For example: "I ordered my steak medium rare and it is cooked well done." Or "We have been waiting 20 minutes for someone to take our order."
4). Tell them how they can solve the problem for you. "Bring me a steak cooked to medium rare." or "Please have a different server wait on us as soon as possible."
5). Be firm and persistent.
6). Agree to pay for only what you have consumed or what is edible. Be reasonable.
7). Exit with dignity. There are other diners still there. You will also have more credibility if you don't have a melt down.
8). Follow up with a letter to corporate if you feel your concerns have not been addressed and/or met. Corporate does want to know. Addresses are generally available on web sites. Give the date, time, and place of the incidient. Give the server's name and the name of other employees as is relevant. State what happened in a tmeline format. This happened and then this happened. The problem was ____. I asked for ___. Management did this____. etc. Include both your address and telephone number. Many corporate offices willallso accept and respond to emails.
Just remember that everyone can have a bad day. Treat others as you would want to be treated in the same circumstances.

This past March at Rose and Crown. Oldest DDs sandwich was horrible. She couldn't eat the roll it was on cause it would of broken her teeth. She mentioned it to the waitress and even sent it back. Nothing was offered in exchange and neither was a discount or our money offered back.

I didn't order much cause my stomach was upset. DH and youngest DDs meal was ok nothing to get excited about. Such a big difference from our meal there in '05. :confused3

For us, it was Akershus in Norway. The service was excellent. But the food was blah. The chicken pasta was tasteless. DH said his entree was good, but there wasn't enough of it. And the items on the buffet were just blah too.

The desserts were really good though. And again, our server was excellent.

We've had some terrific meals at some WDW venues, returned and had a really "off" meal, often due to poor service. There are a couple, however, which have been less than stellar more than once:

1) Pizzafari: terrible 3 times. Like eating in a Chuck E Cheese's with more noise and worse pizza. Thankfully DS no longer pleads to eat here.

2) Ohana: twice the service was more than rushed, with all the food piling upon us at once. The second time I was prepared, asked them not to deliver entrees until we had finished appetizers, and then sent the entrees back when they appeared anyhow. The "cousin" both times got huffy. DS has food allergies, and their dealing with him was more reluctant and obtrusive than almost any other WDW place.

3) Mama Melrose: rushed, impatient service twice, with difficulty dealing with the food allergy in a gracious way. Hit or miss food, mostly miss, althought the flatbread is very good.

4) Le Cellier and Chefs de France: we seem to have about 50/50 luck at both places. A couple of times they've been outstanding. A couple of times inattentive, with food not to order specifications and far too long between server drive-bys.

5) Marrakesh: one very good experience and two bad ones. Both of the bad ones were server related and close to closing.

Boatwright's at PO-R. BARF. I got the (one) vegetarian entree - the eggplant was so disgusting it ruined the whole dish. Everything was pretty bad. We call it "Boatwrong's" now.:)

This last post reminded me-I REALLY encourage people to give a resturaunt a second try. Boatrights was by far my worst ever resturaunt, since my breakfast there. Server was awful, food was cold, just a horrible time. For some reason, I decided to try it again several years later, and I had one of the best meals. I had the sweetest server and the most delicious sweet potato pancakes. Ironically, on that same trip, I went to B&C, which I'd been to several times and always enjoyed. This trip the server, whom I'd had before and had been very pleasant and efficient, was grumpy, abrupt, and my food took an extra long time. I think if this had been my first time there, there wouldn't be a second time.

Coral Reef.

It was, hands down, the worst dining experience I've ever had in my entire life. Service was worse than horrible. Food was only so-so. I'll never go back.

Wow after reading all 14 pages of this thread... you would think there is not one good place to eat at WDW! I don't think there is one place that was not mentioned. Guess it depends on timing and the person waiting on you as well.

Oh well we are off in a few weeks and I'll have to report back in but you really have to take thread's like this with a grain of salt. I agree with one previous poster maybe it will be easier to get ADR's! :rotfl:

That stupid $9 hot dog is what got me. Buying two of those, plus two cokes, cost nearly $30 with tax!

But what was truly the worst meal was the pizza. It literally made both DW and I sick! Who would have thought you could get food poisoning from bread, cheese, and some sauce?! (The cost, other than illness: $25 for two slices of pizza and two cokes!)

Oh, wait. None of that happened at WDW. It was at Six Flags. :rotfl2:

Sorry, I haven't had a truly bad meal at WDW.
