Worse than not getting an ADR to begin with!

I have been trying for months to get into either Chef Mickey's or Tusker House for a character meal for my son. I've called several times a week.

Yesterday I was told, "We have Chef Mickey's at 7:15 a.m." (This was a perfect day and time for us as we are early risers). I said, "great...we'll take it!"

She said, "Oh I'm sorry. There are many of us who are booking at once and it looks lile somebody just snagged it.

Then she checks Tusker House and says there is a ressie open that will work for us. Yet again "Somebody else snagged it!"

I would rather have just been told they were booked because now I am annoyed!

I am sorry; I can't get 1 for Tusker House either. It is very frustrating! Hopefully something will open up!

Kari went into city hall about a week or two ago to get ressies for trails end buffets. And she asked for the heck of it, if there was anything for Le Celliers. And there just so happened to be one ressie available at noon and the lady clicked on it as fast as possible to make sure she got it before any one else could. I would think it would be easier to back out of it, rather than say ohh sorry.
But don't give up, I know I've missed a few ressies the day of cause I was running late. Or had to change things all around when I got here cause of different things and still be able to do it.

Have you tried garden grill?? I love that place. And even Kari who is more picky than any child you can find likes eating there. Although it is only lunch and dinner.
Ohona's is just as good with a nice view of the MK.

At this point I'd go for anything that was available.

Keep trying, I know how frustrating it can be to try to get these character breakfasts for our little ones. OK....a little tip from someone who use to do this as a job... Do not engage the castmembers in any small talk.. if they see it, just say book it.. and then do not say anything else. If they chat, they slow down and then someone else who is not chatting or taking the time, will grab it, they are all hooked into the same booking system and those ressies go fast.

Also, try when you get down there, people cancel even while they are in WDW..

Keep trying even when you are there. People cancel ADRs all the time and you never know when something might pop up

I think I had the same guy on the phone yesterday! Same thing - I was looking for Chef Mickey's, he had a 7:05...oops, sorry its gone. If you want a dinner I have a ..oh, sorry, we missed that one too.

It's soooo not nice to mess with people's emotions like that!

--has Lilo and Stitch (is our favorite for
food, atmosphere and Characters--they also have Mickey and Pluto).

O'hanas Best Friends Breakfast it's at THE POLY
--has Lilo and Stitch (is our favorite for
food, atmosphere and Characters--they also have Mickey and Pluto).

Everything is booked. I'm focusing on Tusker and Chef Mickey's because of the characters there. We only decided 3.5 months ago to take this trip, but even then everything was booked solid.

I really wish they would require a credit card hold because I often read of people who have double booked ressies so they'll have choices on where to eat that day.

I know, but when you decide the last week in March to go in May, this is what happens. I KNEW we should have booked bounceback when we were there in Dec. and had this taken care of...but my husband swore we weren't going again this year. You see how well that worked.

Anyway - like I tell my son - You get what you get and you don't get upset.

But it doesn't hurt to keep trying for a cancellation.

Try Garden Grill or Liberty Tree Tavern.

And if you are changing a reservation to another time or day, do not let the CM cancel the first/orginal resservation.

A couple of trips ago I booked CRT. Wanted a later time. Called to enquire, the time I wanted was available. The CM cancelled my original ressie, then just like the original poster's situation, in the time the CM was doing this the "new" reservation I was trying to claim was booked by someone else. So have your CM book first, cancel later.
