Worried...

My dad is flying out tonight for Saudi Arabia. He works for GE and is going out because he's in charge of a few power plants they are constructing out there and needs to meet with the clients. I wish he wouldn't go, but he seems to think that he's the only person that can get the job done. I'm mostly worried for my little brothers... I'm 25 and on my own, but I'm one of six and most of the kids are younger than me, with the youngest being 9 years old. I wish Dad wouldn't take these risks. He's gone so many times before and everything has been fine, but he even seems really worried this time... :worried:

Just had to vent...

I don't have any advice, but I wanted to offer you a   :grouphug: :grouphug: .

I hope your dad has a safe and successful trip!

 I can feel your uneasiness thru your post...it will be o.k., since he has gone many times before hopefully he can take care of business quickly and head on home to you all. Keep stong and sending *PD* and hugs your way.

Pam

Just said a prayer for your dad & your family...

Blessings to you all.

 for your family and :wizard: pixie dust for a safe trip and a speedy return

Good wishes, Ali, for your dad, and all who travel to hot spots as such. He'll be winging his way home soon. Sure do understand your feelings.

Oh, you poor thing. I know exactly how you feel. My dad also works for GE and he was in Saudi Arabia during the Iranian hostage crisis. We were so worried for him. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Thanks, everyone, for all the hugs, prayers, and pixie dust. I'm going to be on edge until he's safely home, but it helps to have put it out there... almost as if I feel like if other people know that he's out there, then he's going to be safe (weird, supersticious feeling, I know).

He was telling us all of his plans to avoid any danger: has friends that he knows work there picking him up at the airport, etc... I think he meant to make us feel better about it, but it just made the danger so real to me and kind of made it worse. What's really bothering me is that last time he went, earlier this year, he mentioned something to me about not wanting to tell mom but he was actually going to have to make a trip into Iraq. So now I'm all worried that he's actually going there again and had to wake up to the news this morning hearing about the kidnapped Americans in Iraq and how their time is running short.

Ugh. Sorry for the additional vent. Thanks for listening, and all the good thoughts!

Ali

I'll be praying for your dad to have a safe journey and that he returns home to you all safely.

 Sending good wishes for a safe flight and fast return home.

Remember, on the news, we only hear about the few extreme incidents. There are a lot of people working over there who go, do their job, and come home safely.
