Please help me

First off-welcome! and second-not to worry you'll be camping at the happiest place on earth!
June -November is hurricane season. The peak of the season is Aug./Sept. but it doesn't mean a hurricane will come. I can tell you mid-Oct. would be a cooler time to camp vs. Sept. It will be more than likely rainny and hot in Sept. (it's the wet season). We've camped at the Ft. the last 2 yrs. in sept. (it's value season)-no problems, however we weren't tent camping.:)

It is the heart of hurricane season, but I think the chances of a hurricane hitting the exact dates you're there are still pretty remote.. I'd be more concerned about the sweltering heat. September in Orlando is still pretty hot (which hurricanes love).

October is also hurricane season but they are much less likely as the weather begins to cool..

Have a great time!!!

I agree that September is too hot to tent camp at the Fort. At least for me. But, I will tell you that the Fort has tons of tent campers during the summer months. So, if you are up for it, go for it.

Do not worry about the hurricanes. In the remote chance that the Fort is in the direct path of a hurricane, the Fort will be evacuated (it happened once to me). And by evacuated, that means everyone has to leave. Tents, campers, motor-homes, guests in cabins, everyone. And . . . if that happens, the management will put you in a WDW resort hotel room at no extra charge. As I said, it happened to us one October. We were given a room at what was then called Dixie Landings. The weather was pretty crumby, but at least we weren't in our camper. When the storm passes, you are welcome to go back to the Fort, or you can cancel your trip with no penalty.

And I should add that despite the recent activity in the past few years, it is rare for WDW to be in the direct path of a hurricane.

We took our 1st trip in September and I was also worried that we would get hit be a hurricane... Turned out was a lot of worry over nothin. I even went so far as to pull up hurricane histories to see how many times hit and/or how close they came to the fort.
I say go for it...if by some slim chance one hits..it'll be one heck of a thrill ride!!:rotfl: Or just get put up in a resort and still have your trip!
On another note...I sure hope you got an air conditioner for your tent...it was very hot and sticky in Sept and we were there near the end of the month.

Well thank you all its sets my mind at ease and we will continue as planned thanks for the heat we were down there in August 07 and yes it is hot but we have camped in hot weather up here in MI. nothing like FL but we will grin and bare it:rotfl2:
