Worried about the heat in August

We are going in August due to not being able to take kids out of school. When they were very small we did August and it was very hot and humid but you have to remember there are lots of air conditioned buildings and the queue lines are generally covered. I found the water parks the best at this time of year and not many ride closures too. You can buy mister fans in the parks and I would recommend purchasing swim tops for the water parks so you are a little more covered.

You will have a great time and you are going for three weeks so lots of time to fit everything in.

I've also been worrying about the August weather. I've been watching both home and Orlando (Bay Lake) weather and today was 10% more humid and only 5 deg lower at home than Orlando which made me much more relaxed about it. Hope that helps you too.

We've been in August 3 times and are going again this year. It's fine. The ride queues are often indoors and, if not are in the shade. There are shops you can go into if the he heat gets too much as they are all air conditioned . I don't like the heat but I've never had a problem at all.
Have a great holiday.

You certainly do not need to sit inside a villa all day :)

Get up early and maximise the 8am -12pm time slot.

Or go out later and enjoy the after 6pm till later time a slot. The new FPP is your friend here.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Eat lunch in air conditioning.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Eat dinner in air conditioning.

Know where the longer air conditioned rides/attractions are in each park and use them when you need them. Many have short queues. Hall of Presidents. Ellen's Energy Adventure. Nemo. Lion King. Tiki Birds. Carousel of Progress. American Idol. Country Bear Jambouree. The Living Seas. Walt, One Man's Dream. Turtle Talk with Crush.

If you're not visiting the loo, you're not drinking enough. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.

Listen to your body. If it's thirsty give it a drink. If it's too hot get it inside an air conditioned shop or fast food place or attraction. If it's tired let it have a rest.

Enjoy the pool.

Wear comfy, worn in, supportive foot wear. Blisters can be the thing that makes the heat just too much to bear.......

We almost always go in August. You'll be fine.

Enjoy :)

Ps. Hydrate......

Thank you to everyone for replying. I now feel a lot more assured and relaxed that the heat will not spoil our holiday in any way. I have taken notice of every single bit of advice and will definitely be purchasing some mister sprays to take with us to the parks.

It's definitely subjective, but I find it totally doable. There are lots of shaded/covered areas (some with fans) and lots of ac. They really do a nice job of keeping places cool. You can even walk "down main street" through the air conditioned stores if you wanted ;)

If you find it hot, plan on going early, taking a midday break in the worst of the heat, and coming back to stay late. You'll have a great time!!

in orlando, it's the humidity as much as the heat that is uncomfortable..
i find my best bet is to get into this sort of zen place where i'm one with all the sweat...
i just become this one big sweat ball and i just become a part of it.

i know...sounds nuts..
but it seems to work for me...

Hahaha-I agree with this completely!!
