I'm a bit worried about our stay at Poly in 2 weeks. We have always stayed at GF and only changed to Poly due to lack of space at GF. I've read a lot lately on bad service, crowding, and transportation. I also worry about the noise from the construction. Help!! Please reassure me that this will be OK.

Okay, first take a deep breath. Better now?? We stayed at the Polynesian last August. We were in Tokelau and our room was exactly opposite the construction on Hawaii. Never any noise. The only noise we had was from our next door neighbor at night!!! The transportation was fine. We had no complaints at all. Our housekeeping was terrific. And the choices for food was good. Yes, there were a lot of people there. But, it didn't detract from our visit. Stop worrying and go and have a great time. You'll love it there. Watching the fireworks from the beach is incredible and the short walk to TTC to get the Epcot monorail was a great perk!! Don't forget to check in with us when you get back and tell us all about your trip!!

We were in Tokelau in July. Had a good room, close to beach castle view when standing on the patio, good housekeeping ...a lot of fun

Went in August..Had bad room, bad housekeeping and uncaring & unprofessional cast memebers.
Had a great time when we were away from them and the room but... we were unfortunate to get them on their worst week.

We are going back to the Polynesian very soon and I am not worried at all. :) On these boards you will see good and bad reviews of resorts all the time - some are even from the same time-frame but from different people. What upsets some people will not upset others. When I am on vacation I tend to let things slide off my back because the last thing I want to do is get upset.

Go and have a GREAT time!!!!!

I was at the Polynesian at the same time as Goofy4Tink, and her room was one above, and one over from us. The only time we heard a noise was the night when the people in the room next to us (and under Goofy4tink) called to have something fixed in their room, and there was banging for about a half an hour. Other than that, it was quite peaceful and relaxing.

We had a great room in Tokelau, and had a water view at a garden view price. We could see the Floridian from our room as well.

We had a wonderful housekeeper, Ada, who took great care of us throughout our stay. She knew we went through a lot of towels, and she always gave us extras. If we needed anything, all's we had to do is leave Ada a note, and it was taken care of.

I found the staff to be extremely kind and helpful. We were always greeted with a warm smile, and an Aloha. The staff at Captain Cook's remembered us when we went there to get breakfast each morning.

The only problem we had with transportation was when we were trying to get to Blizzard Beach one morning. We waited about a half hour for the bus, and others had been waiting fifteen minutes before that. Other than that, the transporation was great.

Try not to worry. Just go, and let the magic take you away. It may be a nice change of pace for you!

I just got back two weeks ago from the Poly and thought it wonderful as usual. The place was fully booked per the CM that checked us in. You would not have known it by the resort or pool though. It was calm and very pleasant during our stay. Now the parks were totally different! That place was mobbed compared to the same time the last two years! You will have a great trip!
