My 3 best friends and I just signed our 14 yr old boys up for an educational travel excursion through a co. known as Worldstrides. They are going to the big island of Hawaii (man am I jealous!!!). We've read through all the brochures and checked out the website and the teacher who is the head of this trip has an excellent reputation and done this several times before.
The educational benefits and my feeling that this is an opportunity of a lifetime (esp. one that the 4 of them, who have been BF since pre-k, will talk about for the rest of their lives!) far outweigh my anxiety over him leaving for a week. But I am very curious if anyone else has sent their kids on one of these educational trips and what their experiences were. Also, did you fundraise to offset the expense and what was the best way to do so? Thanks!!
