Hi all

I've been using touring plans to give me an idea of how long I will need to allow to experience each attraction. When I look at the world showcase it is saying that each of the pavillions only needs 10 minutes to look round unless there is a specific ride/film etc there. That seems like it would be a little rushed to me. Do you think that timing is realistic or if not how long do you like to spend looking around? :goodvibes

the timing is "realistic" if you just have a look around

it's unrealistic if you do time consuming things like shopping :)

for example, families with teens will spend a ridiculous amount of time inside the japanese shop (I know we do :p ) with all the manga stuff inside

That's just an example. There is always a reason to spend a lot of time.

But some pavillions will appeal more to yo than others, and on average you might spend those 10 minutes per pavillion.

As mentionnend, pavillions in Mexico, America, France and Canada will require more time due to attractions and shows.
DS can spend quite some time looking at the electric trains in Germany

You will be able to meet characters, and you might spend some time waiting for Tigger and Pooh at the UK pavillions
but there are also street shows

depending on how you time your visit, you can tour WS just like a nice stroll, or you can go 'in depth'. You can also do the Agent P adventure, which will require even more time.

In the end, the World Showcase is a 1 mile long path, with a lot to see along the way.
there are 11 pavillions, so 10 minutes on average gives roughly 2 hours. Add 1hr to walk around the lagoon, and you get to 3hrs, which is, IMHO the bare minimum required to loop the loop.
If you need to budget for time, I'd allow at least 4 hours, especially if it's your first time.
Look at your times guide for sideshows, characters and events. There are plenty, and they will add to the time needed to tour the WS

but if you want to just do a quick tour, 10 minutes on average should be enough (but not for the grand tour.)

ooh i love world showcase it really is nice to go round at a slower pace i think

we like to snack and drink round it etc plus the kids like to stop at the kids activity tables and get a stamp do a colouring the pace is slower and it just feels hectic

if you just want a quick look then i supose it would be ok but if your plans allow i suggest taking it a bit slower:cheer2:

Thanks for that, I was thinking 10 minutes per country sounded like a bit of a route march. I currently have two evenings and part of an afternoon planned to look around the world showcase and watch illuminations so we should be able to go at a nice leisurely pace :goodvibes

We decided to "walk around the world" after our Akershus lunch, and probably didn't spent more than 10 minutes anywhere... but that's mainly because my DH doesn't like shopping. I could have spent all afternoon exploring and looking at things, so it depends on your style.

For DH, 10 minutes was plenty. For me, it was just enough to get a little taste and find the Kidcot stations... but I don't feel like I saw anywhere properly!

We can spend over an hour in the ones like Mexico. We have some drinks, wonder around the stalls and go on the boat ride.
Germany unless we go to the caramel shop we tend to not bother.
For us certain ones don't really interest us as much so we will usually skip them altogether and just walk past.
During events like food and wine it can take more than 10mins to get from Mexico to Norway with the crowds.
I think giving yourself 4hours would be good but I would allow a contingency of an hour incase.

I'd definitely allow a lot longer. My dd loves world showcase.

Definitely recommend the agent p missions with the age of your kids. They are a great way to explore each country.

Also take time to see some of the entertainment.

Eg in China you could easily spend an hour doing agent p(you get a fortune cookie with a clue in!) watching the acrobats and having a look around.

We usually do at least 2 afternoons in world showcase.

Oh yes your youngest especially might like the kidcot stuff. Fun to speak to the cms and maybe learn a few new words like hello in other languages.

You can also get a passport for 12 ish dollars. The cm will stamp it for the kids and write a little message in each country.

Sampling different snacks as you go round is fun too.

Just thinking about Mexico last time. Trying sombreros on and taking pics. Dd met Donald in his Mexican outfit. Dd did a phinaeus and pherb mission. We had a browse of the stalls and went on the boat ride. Oh and I had a v strong blood orange margarita from cava del tequila(recommended!) so well over an hour.

Thanks, I think you are right that the girls especially our youngest will like the kidcot stops. Are they open the whole time the world showcase is open or do they close early?

I've been looking at the timings for the entertainment in each country and notice that they are mainly only on during the afternoons and not the evenings. I did have two evenings and part of an afternoon planned for the world showcase but think I will see if I can change the plans around a bit so we will have a bit more of a chance to see some entertainment.

I had heard about the agent p adventures and thought they sounded like a great idea to get the kids taking an interest. I expect we will do at least a couple in our world showcase time. :goodvibes

Meant to also say that they love looking round the shops too. :goodvibes

Oh and I really like the idea of having a passport each - it would make a nice souvenir to bring home too. :goodvibes

Many shops sell them but we got ours in Mexico as we started there. Will be getting them again as the kids enjoyed getting different things put in. One year we had happy birthday in all the languages, we also have them write our daughters names in their respective language too.
