Even though I replied earlier in the thread about noticing the darkness, I don't necessarily dislike it. However, I can see where it can cause problems keeping track of the little ones, or for disabled folks to get around safely.
I certainly don't think the place needs to be brightly lit - that would wreck the atmosphere - but some additional subdued lighting might enhance both mood and safety.
One of our favorite spots in WDW is walking along Main Street at nite. Just imagine how different that experience would be if it were as dark as it is along parts of World Showcase. Not to say the 2 areas are alike, just pointing out how well done lighting effects can enhance the experience.
