We have finally been able to score a reservation through World Passport and will be going to Mexico next year. Has anyone here ever exchanged their week and how was the experience? We found it hard to get a reservation, but we're so excited now that we have one - what a great value - 144 points for 7 nights!
Also, any insight on the Club Casa Dorada Spa and Golf resort would be appreciated.

unfortunately we've never been able to score anything with the World Passport collection. Multiple resorts, weeks, etc.. and nothing. Congrats to you though

We've been trying for years without success! And actually, they had nothing available on Tuesday and on Wednesday, it was a totally different story!
Keep trying - I hope you get to exchange some day!

We got our exchange the first time we tried. We live in the UK and had a week off work for our DD's school holidays in February. We were coming over to WDW in the following May and wanted a quick break with no flights.

We just asked for an exchange that particular week anywhere in the UK

We got a villa in Devon in England and had a great time.

The villas was on the ocean

The scenery was stunning

I have also used points for Disneyland Paris and the Disney cruise. Would definately use the exchange again.

Have a great time

I thought that you just put a search in and let it go. Like a waitlist. Maybe I'm doing this all wrong

You are correct that you put a search out and wait. I did that for specific resorts. But what I did also, is I called a couple of times during the week and asked them to perform an instant search of all of the Carribbean and all of Mexico. If something came up I put it on hold for 24 hours so I had time to check out the resort online. When I found the Mexico one I liked, I called back to book and the 75 dollars I paid for the original search was applied to my reservation.
I didn't want to put my search out for all of the Carribbean and all of Mexico though cause if something came up it would automatically book and I would not have the chance to check it out first. Does this make sense? It's all very confusing!!! : )

Congratulations! My brother owns at Club Casa Dorada Spa and Golf resort and really likes the resort. I've heard my brother say there's a Hilton hotel as part of the resort, but I don't think Hilton owns the timeshare units. My brother has actually gotten letters from the resort asking him to sell his unit back to them - which is kind of strange??? He doesn't want to sell it.

Thanks for the input on the resort. Since it's time share, it's hard to find too many pictures, etc. of it on the internet! It's rated "A" so we'll give it a try!
