I'm day dreaming about a Christmas 2010 trip. Has anyone used the RCI passport travel to a Caribbean or Central American location? Can you share your experience? I know the resorts are supposed to be up to Disney standards, but I'm wondering about the reality. We want to swim, snorkel, maybe scuba, sight see, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Happy traveling!

The resorts are NOT up to DVC standards as a rule. With RCI (more so than even than with II) the resorts are below DVC standards. IF you decide to do this you need to investigate the resorts enough to make sure you know what you're getting. DON'T assume it's OK because it's on the DVC list alone. There are few resorts in those areas I'd trade DVC for and NONE I'd consider on par with DVC that are not all inclusive. As a rule I do not do AI because the charges for timeshares are almost always far over-inflated but as a min one should look at the specifics of the resort, AI and costs.

Ah Thank you! I assumed wrong. So it's buyer beware. That's very good to know.

Exactly and you're welcome. Always investigate a given resort before accepting it.
