You can call member services with your request to trade out. They can give you all the information. The phone number will be in your membership book. You will have to have your member number and dates of travel. They like a several week range.
Good luck with your trade.

Don't expect to match anything on there except maybe for KCR. You should also put your request in AT LEAST a full year in advance.

KCR on the Big Island is very easy to get so only list it if that's what you want. The others will be a long shot at best, impossible for most if you want a 2 BR. Search other thread's using my name and Hawaii and you should find a lot of addition info including that DVC has apparently added the Embassy's and at least part of the new Marriott resorts in HI. Don't know much about Thailand as to when is high season but can easily find out if you need it. Let me know what else you might need.

Dean, does this mean that a 1 bedroom is slightly easier, or a 3 bedroom?

a studio or 1 BR would be much more realistic. To my knowledge, there are only a few resorts in HI on the DVC list that has a 3 BR or larger. These are:
_
The Cliffs Club _•_ CLF
Princeville, Kauai, Hawaii

Embassy Vacation Resort Poipu Point _•_ EPP
Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii

The Kona Coast Resort (A Shell Vacations ClubTM Resort) _•_ KOC , KSO, KO1 & KC1
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

One Napili Way _•_ ONP
Napili, Maui, Hawaii

Sands of Kahana Vacation Club (A Consolidated Resort Property) _•_ SOK
Kahana, Maui, Hawaii

Most of these resorts have only a couple of larger units and most of those I believe are lockoff's which are deposited as two smaller units. San Francisco might be somewhat easier though one needs to be looking FAR in advance, at least a year for anything high demand. That's not to say something want come up at less than a year, just the chances are much less.

As a general rule, never expect to get a 3 BR UNLESS it's sitting there in the II bank OR you do a direct exchange. Even for 2 BR for certain areas, especially Caribbean and HI, are few and far between. One trick is to get multiple smaller units which at times can be combined by the resort, but not DVC or II, into a larger single unit.
