World of Color Superthread

Just curious, is anyone else avoiding the coverage of WOC so that it will be a surprise when they see it in person? Just wondering :)

I saw it on Tuesday and LOVED IT!..it was so cool..true there isn't really a storyline but it's still a good show..so many colors @.@ I do have to say the flame throwers were awesome..everyone was temporarily dried off too XD
I saw it against the railing on the second tear near the middle

gonna see it again on the 19th with the picnic meal deal thingy..yummeh European Antipasto :3

More or less. I don't want to see any movies of it. A shot here and there won't hurt, I'll get that visiting disneyland.com.

I posted the link to watch the show above in the thread, because I'm sure some people can't wait.

I honestly suggest watching both... as the angle for the camera could be a better view than when your actually there...

Absolutely, although I am in my theme park view room at the PPH watching the goings on from up above, and will watch the back side of water during the press show tonight. I don't think seeing the fountains and lights will diminish the impact of seeing the show from the front. They did the full show this morning at 4 am for east coast morning TV coverage and although I woke up with the first huge sploosh of the opening of the show I didn't manage to stay awake. I had fun wandering the scene this afternoon and watching them prep for the event and party. We happened to be at the GF late this afternoon as guests were arriving for the event, and I have never seen so many plaids nor so many suits all at once at a Disney resort.

I have a dinner package at Ariel's Grotto for the first show tomorrow and it just started seeming real today, despite the fact that I've known I would be here for opening night (on a long planned trip) since they announced the date. I am suddenly super excited. Oops - got to go - I hear cheering - and Mickey!

I figure if I get a crummy spot while at DCA I can decide to watch video later. Won't be as good as Disney's prospective but I know on Monday, youtube will have dozens of clips of the show at the least.

So excited to hear the reports tomorrow! Have a wonderful time! :goodvibes

I really enjoyed it. I bet it's beautiful in person. A couple parts were kind of downers though.

Terri Hatcher must have been seated in an area that gets pretty wet. She looked kind of drenched after the show.

I'm watching the live feed right now.

Who sings this World of Color song?
I do not know as I am avoiding any videos until I see it live, but I do know the WOC "signature voice" is Amy Grant. There was speculation she may sing for WOC. Does anyone know?

While Amy Grant was announced as the "signature voice" at the D23 convention, there really hasn't been any mention of her since. There was some discussion on MiceChat that the voice in the show, while similar in style, doesn't quite sound like Amy Grant. One post mentioned that an online forum for Amy Grant fans said that she was no longer involved in the show, possibly due to the song being out of her range. Again, this is all speculation but it is odd that she hasn't really turned up with all of the media attention around the show.

it was INCREDIBLE. Cannot wait to see it live in September!

I don't think WoC translates onto to the computer screen via video at ALL compared to in person. You just cannot grasp how tall the water is, how giant the imagery is, how "wow" it is in person when you see it on video.

I am one who believes you can sort of get an idea of Fantasmic! from watching a video. We can all picture the size of a pirate ship, based on perspective. However, when seeing WoC on video, wow, it's just not even possible to imagine what it's really like. It's just SOOO much more grandiose in person.

Whoever goes tonight or in the next few days can you please try to post prices of the WoC items that are for sale? Like the cotton candy, popcorn, drinks...etc
