World of Color Superthread

Just booked mine for Wine Country Tratorria!

They said latest they'll seat is 7:40pm
I booked for Wednesday, June 23rd.

Thank you DisBoards! Without you, I would have never known that they started taking reservations!!!

$40 for 3 course meal and seating. Not bad at all.

Oh and I dialed 714-781-3463 and chose option 4

Thanks!!! My family and I planned a trip to D-land this last month. We happened to pick June 7-12 as it fit our school schedule and it's still early enough to get the park when it's not near capacity. Thanks to this thread, I have reservations at the Grotto for the early WoC show (and dinner). The CM did not guarantee WoC tickets but I took an early reservation for the early show to maximize my chances. The Tratorria is a mixed seating in the evening but the AG dinner is WoC only. She did say that the phones had picked up about 2 hours prior but that the WoC reservations were opened last night.

I am a TRUE Disney kid. I am beside my self excited about this. I was in d-land when I graduated to big boy pants in the mid 60's, literally. I remember A-E tickets as my great-grandmother kept a drawer full of them in her Anahiem apartment for the grand kids to use when they visited. I rode Nemo the day it opened by pure luck in 2008 (after the media day). I rode the old subs when they were 20,000 leagues. I rode in the Autopia-like boats and rode the train before BTMMR.

I have been reading forums and postings about our trip and came to find that the World's of Color show was going to debut while we were at the park. Thanks for this thread!

Re-post... I was in the wring thread...

I TOTALLY agree!

This has been the best day ever: My Costco Travel package was delivered today, I got an unexpected check which just happens to be the amount I budgeted for food for our whole trip, AND I booked my WOC dining package! :cloud9:

:disrocks: ITA too! We must be going around the same time because my Costco Travel package arrived today, too! :yay: I almost missed the UPS guy, but luckily he gave me a couple of seconds to run to the door ;)

What an idiot I am! :rotfl2: I had read parts of this thread to know that they started booking WoC packages today and then about an hour ago, I called Disney Dining to make PS for next Tuesday wondering WHY the wait was so bloody long, now that I realize how many people are reserving I have to call back and make a reservation for early July, hopefully they will have the kinks worked out by then!

Just made my reservation! :cool1:
5:20 pm at Ariel's on June 18. We arrive on June 17 and are doing F! dessert seating (my first time doing that).

JINX! Wow, I just booked for 5pm at Ariel's on June 18th about an hour or so ago. :goodvibes

Actually, I'm not a usual Disboards poster/lurker or Disney planner for my family. My DW (Hawleys) is a huge Disneyland fan (and planning fanatic). She has been talking quite a lot about "World of Chaos" while planning our next trip (June 17th-20th). She was hoping for a dining package, but with no announcement day after day she had started to lose faith. :sad2:

She is out of town at a conference (helping run it) right now. This was the one week she hasn't been able to (obsessively) check the boards. :surfweb: So super-duper thanks Disboards people for the package tip! :thumbsup2 Luck would have it, I needed a 5 minute break and decided to do a little lurking. A phone call & reservation later: I think I've earned my brownie points for the day! :cool1:

PS. Sorry for the excessive use of emocons. This is my first post, and they are irresistible.

Just made my reservations for Friday, July 2 at 630 at WCT. The cast member I talked to recommended making the reservation for earlier in the seating time, so that they won't run out of tickets. She thought they would probably have a block of tickets for the first showing for the 430-630 time frame, and then another block of tickets for the second showing for 630-830 time frame.

Really, getting reservations was kind of a win-win--you don't have to pay in advance like with the F! reserved seating, and it may turn out to be great!

We're still going to try to see WOC during the first days of our vacation just to guarantee that we'll see it at least once (reference HydroGuy's favorite ride rule :) )

This made me laugh! Good job ginormous -- you were a great husband and a great dis'er too! Hope you enjoy your trip.

Just booked for June 19th at Ariel's Grotto. Since we're doing the 5:00 seating the phone CM said we should "absolutely" get tickets for the 9:00 WOC. However, as others have said here, she did not know where the premium seating area will be.

It's loading very slowly . . . everyone on the boards must be trying to view it right now! :rotfl:

Thanks for the link! I can't wait to see it! :goodvibes

My wife is the best! This week is the one time a year where I am so busy at work that I absolutely cannot check the boards or even make a phone call. DW has definitely earned some brownie points. I am so excited to see the show and relieved that we won't have to spend a Disney morning in line for "showpasses". Thanks for the tip!

I will just keep a eye on the borads here to see how the FP go popcorn:: If we have to arrive way early for a fp for WoC, we are going to be there the 29th of june for 4 days so I am hopeing by then there will be enough info out.

From MiceAge today http://miceage.micechat.com/

Looks like maybe there will be a few soft openings on June 8 and 9.

Editor's Note 5/28: With Wednesday night's thumbs up from Bob Iger, the World of Color creative team is now preparing to hand off the faster-paced 26 minute show to Anaheim management to operate as they see fit. In order to prevent a mutiny by the Anaheim Cast Members, Cast Member Previews are now being quickly thrown together for five separate shows spread between June 6th and 7th, held after regular park closing time. If things continue to go well, there's a chance that at least a couple of soft openings during regular park hours might show up before June 9th. - Al Lutz

Is anyone else worried about having to line up at Sunshine Plaza and then be led to the WoC viewing area? I ask, because I usually am usually without hubby, with my three young DD's, and can just imagine the feat of trying to keep them all together while walking with the frenzied crowd to the viewing area. How will we ever find a decent place to stand? And how will the children EVER see over the adults? :confused3

Just had a long conversation with a CM in Guest Communications. I expressed my confusion about the conflicting info on either or not you will get WoC tickets with either the WCT or AG dining packages. She was great and has talked to Disney Dining and left messages for WoC operations. Basically, what she said is that as of now, yes it is correct that tickets are "first come, first serve". She is trying to get clarification with WoC operations on how they see this running and said she will get back to me. Of course, I will post any info I get.

I also talked to DD again. We have ressies at 6:30 at WCT and requests tickets for the first WoC show. She did say that WCT is only taking reservations and no walk ups unless the day of they have room and/or cancellations. She also confirmed that if we requested first show tickets and they are out, we could get second show tickets. She seemed confident that they will have enough tickets to cover the dining package reservations.

Now I also asked about the rumored tickets for Villa & Concierge guests and she said they are working on that now and should have info soon. There is also plans for a picnic lunch you pick up that will also get you tickets.

2 weeks away and still waiting for details. No matter, I can't wait!!!!

I just posted this on the other post that has the original announcement about dining packages & will re-post it here:

okay, I just called & made our reservation (12:15 pm WST) and I was on hold for less than a minute :goodvibes before a CM answered, she was very helpful. We got 6/15 at 4:10 pm. Some additional info I received that I don't think I've seen on here is:

10% discount for Disney Rewards Visa cardholders applies (:cool1:)
EVERYONE in your party MUST order off the set menu - no exceptions (other than dietary restrictions)
Tax & Gratuity will be added.
Price for Children at WCT is $19

I'm so excited!:cheer2: And i just woke up after working a grave shift last night so this is a great way to start my day! :thumbsup2

I just happend to look at Disney's calendar & WOC is finally on the park schedules! Looks like 9:00 & 10:15 each night with no showings on Grad Nights.
