I was thinking about doing this on one of the nights of our trip, but I wasnt sure if it was worth the money, has anyone else done it? how did you like it?

well think about it this way

the good reasons:

you get a ticket for viewing, and dont have to wait in line for hours ..

you get a good meal

bad things

if you hated your meal you at least got a free tickt to WOc!

That sums it up well. Personally, I buy it for the ticket more than the meal. It is not a bad deal if you don't want to line up for a fastpass.

We actually did the picnic lunch on Sunday evening. Bought them online (I'm an AP holder), so it was actually $12.95 each. We also received nice carrying bags that I will use now that I am back home.

We picked up our picnics at about 6pm, no line waiting to get the food. We were given our FP return tickets and everything was explained very well so we knew what we were supposed to do.

All of us enjoyed the picnic lunchbox (we all chose the chicken), and after finishing our meal we rode some rides, grabbed FP's for others and entered our 'yellow' section at about 8:20pm. Our arrival time was from 7:450p to 8:30p.
Granted, we had a wheelchair in our group, so we were placed in the Handicapped section for yellow and were able to see the show from that viewing area.

The show in our opinion was fantastic. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but we loved it! It actually brought me to tears, but then again I cry at the fireworks display...lol..

So, I'd say if you are on the fence, go with the picnic lunchboxes. The food was good, and like someone else said, if nothing else you're guaranteed a FP for a viewing area and won't have to line up hours before just to stand and wait.

I did it so we wouldn't have to go to the park early in the day. The best part about the meal was the Diet Coke... I'd do a kids meal if we ever did it again. Hub's not a fan of WOC after seeing it twice, so my chances of that are slim :sad2:

good thread.
what is the best time to get the meal to sit and eat?

They say any time after 3 pm is good to avoid the crowds. We picked ours up at 6pm and ate them right there at the Golden State Winery where we picked them up. Lots of seats available.

I'm going to do this. I just need to figure out what day we will do WOC. I'm leaning towards Weds.
