The first new scene in the new World of Color show at Disney California Adventure is set to debut Friday night (tonight), a Disney official announced.
Disney will preview a new clip from the upcoming Tron: Legacy movie on Friday, said Mary Niven, vice president of Disney California Adventure. The first official showing, however, of the encore will be Sunday night.
The World of Color water-and-light show features movie scenes projected on large mist screens from fountains on Paradise Bay, the main body of water in the theme park. More than 1 million visitors have seen the show since it debuted in June.
Niven made the announcement Friday during a behind-the-scenes event with a small group of reporters at Disney California Adventure.
The Tron scene will come at the end of the show and last two minutes and 15 seconds. The first appearance is set for the 9 p.m. show.
This is the first clip that Disney has added to the show. Disney officials always have said that they planned to add scenes to World of Color, including possible holiday elements.
For more than a month, Disney fans and bloggers have theorized that the park planned to add a Tron clip after a YouTube video was posted, showing crews testing out a Tron scene. See a post that includes the Tron video HERE. Earlier this week, a photo of another Tron test was posted on Twitter by @Fiyero88, fueling speculation that the Tron scene would come soon.
The new scene comes as the park is also promoting the upcoming movie with ElecTRONica, a nighttime, entertainment experience based on Tron: Legacy that began earlier this month at Disney California Adventure.
