Working on Weight Loss During Training—New Year New Us!

Hi Everyone,

I'm so excited to report my good news. I'm down 4.5 lbs this week!! That's all the inspiration I need to stick with what I'm doing. I know I can't expect to lose that much every week. But I'll take it for this week!

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Cindy

Cindy - Wow!!!!!!!!!! That is fabulous :cheer2:

Just a quick update. Day 2 and all is going well. I set myself up well to tackle this week. Egg quiche ready for a heat and go breakfast, and bean cake for a great protein snack.

WISHing everyone the best :wizard:

Dave- :rotfl: over your tuna nectar story. DFH loves tuna, so whenever I :love1: him I have to first make sure he's not "tunafied".

Susie- thanks for saying I'm fast. I really have two speeds, "medium" and "stonker" I've been doing some emotional snacking at work lately, so let's try to hang in there together

Been a little stressed out lately. My grandfather and DFH's newborn nephew are sick, we have to move, and it's getting hot here. The heat in Miami is intolerable to me and it's really getting me down because the summer weather is arriving and it will last until Thanksgiving at the earliest. :scared: Sorry to complain, I know it's not so bad in the grand scheme of things.

Did 3.1 mi on the TM this morning in 30:22. I think I have a hint of sinus and chest congestion left, but it should be okay for the Minnie. I'm taking this one "easy", just having fun with my friend and taking lots of character pictures instead of trying for a PR.

Have a good day!

My training and eating is going really well. I have the Pig Half this weekend and should be under 170 by then. I'm determined not to have to wear that pair of size larger jeans I bought.

I'M FREAKING HUNGRY ALL THE TIME, EEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that will end once my body is used to eating like a human instead of a starved shark! No pints of frozen yugart or cups of nuts in the evening. No big meat portions.

The good news is I have lost some weight about 3 lbs already and I'm feeling stronger and getting faster. I have two months till the National Senior Olympics so after the Pig I'll have to start speed training. Sounds funny, speed training for walking.

Walk/run strong, eat healthy and keep smiling y'all.

Hi Everyone,

Eating is still going well for me. It's great once you get a little momentum, it just seems so much easier to stick with it. We went out to lunch yesterday for a co-worker who was leaving and while everyone was eating the bread and having sugary drinks I just sipped my club soda. That way when my meal came I could enjoy it without feeling guilty about over eating. That's not something I alway did in the past. It really feels good to make healthy choices. I know sometimes the temptation will be too great, but I guess if I make the healthy choice more times than not I'll be in good shape.

Minnie: Nice job on being prepared with healthy choices. It really does make it easier.

Jennifer: Sorry about all the recent stress. Hopefully everyone will return to health soon. Lots of luck at the Minnie. Have fun.

Dave: Nice job on the weight loss. Have a good trip to the Flying Pig.

Have a great day everyone.

Cindy that is wonderful. Making a healthy decission and not just giving in takes a lot of courage. You get stronger every time you don't give in. You are super example of will power. You rock lady!!!!

Dave:hippie:

Thank you very much Dave. I really have to say that posting on this thread really makes it easier.

Have a great day.

There is strength in numbers darlin, if we all continue to make good choices this will be the year we make it happen.

We leave early in the morning for Cincinnati and the Flying Pig weekend. It's just a social event for us, but that's ok there are plenty of races this year to hurt myself at.:scared1:

Is anyone else getting excited about the Tower of Terror besides my lady and I?

Dave:hippie:

OK - I have been a very bad poster! I admit I have been spending way too much time on the trip planning boards getting ready for my June WDW trip. I have still been trying to eat healthy and I have had some really good workouts. Yesterday I did my run and then felt so good I continued walking and ended up out for over and hour and a half. Such a beautiful day that I couldn't resist!

I have been letting a bit too much fast food slip back into my diet so this week and I going to make a concerted effort to get away from that 100%. I keep trying to convince myself the Starbucks Chai latte is OK for me and I know it really isn't. In any case, my clothes are getting too big for me and I hope to be in size 10 shorts in time for vacation.

Sorry I have not had time to catch back up with everyone but I will later this week. In the meatime have a good week everyone!

Hi Everyone,

My weigh-in was today and I'm happy to say I'm down another 1.8 lbs. I'm still sticking to the WW points everyday, but some days are just harder than others. I think that some of the newness is wearing off.

Susan: Good job on the long workout. Good luck in your committment to healthy eating.

Dave: Hope you had a good time in Cincy. I'll check on some of the other threads for a race report.

Have a good day everyone.

Cindy

Good morning Cindy. I have a report on the DisneyRunning.com Under my walking section.

I gained back up to 172 lbs while I was there, darn the bad luck. I think it was the 4 buns after the race, or maybe it was the 2 giant smoked sasauges and beer at the ball game, no wait I know it was that big, chocolate covered waffle cone with the rasberry chunk icecream.

It was a good time but now it's time to get my butt out there and start serious training. National Senior Games in 2 months. CHARGE!!!!!

Let's make this a super week and make all the right choices.

Dave:hippie:

Yeah, I totally need to get back OP!

I saw my pics from the Minnie, and I am kind of depressed. :sad2:
I want to look better in my running gear for ToT!

I am still recovering from no sleep this weekend at WDW.
I will be back on plan tomorrow - too much diet coke & snacking in store today to merely stay awake at work.

Hey all. I am having a major life taking over month. My 1/2 marathon is in 2 weeks (May 20) and I still am stuck at the same weight. Thankfully that is down 10 pounds since the WDW 1/2, but I had wanted to lose more.

I am struggling with my running since my PF flaired up. I did do 10 miles on Sunday, but it is tough. I don't run much during the week just to rest my foot. It seems like everything has been a struggle this spring. After WDW I was sporting some new speedy times, and now I am at an all time slow!!!

Kristi - Pictures can be some great motivation. Unfortunately for me, I am going to see pics of my 1/2 marathon that will look similar to WDW. We need to crank it up!!!!

Dave - Oh those darn sausages!! I always gain when I am away from home. The good thing is that those quick gains can also be quick losses.

Cindy - WTG!!!! What an awesome loss!

OK, work is calling me. ughhh.....

Hi Everyone,

I know I've been MIA. It is my ridiculously busy time at work. After Wednesday, I will get to interact with the rest of the world again. I have been keeping up with my long runs. I did 4.25 last weekend, so next weekend I'm up to 4.5 miles.

My eating has been pretty scary, and I've been staying away from the scale. I'm looking forward to getting back into me, and also keeping in touch with all of you.

I hope you're doing well, and feeling great!
Maria

Hi, everyone! With the Minnie behind me and having been very unhappy when I saw my pix, I am soooo back on track with food today. I am entering every single bite on sparkpeople and sticking to WW core foods as much as possible. So far, today has been all core:
B: WW oatmeal; coffee w/no milk
L: green salad w/canned chicken breast & canned corn

I haven't been snacking today either. I know I am not fueled enough to go to the gym so I am going home to cook and then will do my balance ball tonight. Getting back into the challenge I set for myself of 100 crunches and at least 60 pushups each day. There is an absolutely horrible picture of me on disneyrunning.com where you can see all the extra skin hanging off under my arms and I almost got sick when I saw it. However, since there are 6 or 7 other people in the picture I couldn't ask Robert to remove the picture. And I am hoping that everyone will just see our smiles and not my gruesome body -- I am still not sure how my body can look SOOOO much worse AFTER losing 70 pounds. Like my doctor said, I carried all that weight for 30 some years and there is no quick fix for the damage done. So, even if it doesn't look good, I definitely want my body to be smaller.

WISH me luck, dear WISH buddies!

(((((((((((((((((((Cam))))))))))))))))))))

((((((((((((((((Maria))))))))))))))))))

((((((((((((((((((((Jen))))))))))))))))))))

Hang in there guys. They ain't seen the best of us yet!

Dave:hippie:

When I lost 60 pounds in 2 moths before going to college, I had the same issue. Loose skin happens when you loose a lot of weight. Look at the positive. Sorry I missed you at Minnie:(

See you in Oct!

Cam - first off, you do not look nearly as bad as you think you do! That said, I feel the same way about the pictures of myself that Robert has up on his site. I just keep telling myself that even though I am not thrilled with how I look now, and am 100% better than I was 30 lbs. ago! And you are much better in many ways than you were 70 lbs. ago! Keep looking at the positive, ok?

Today is back to WW Core, 100%!
I am also going to start doing some xt.

Cam: I definately didn't notice anything other than the smiles in those pictures. You guys looked like you were having a great time. Concentrate on what you've accomplished so far. Good luck in getting back on track.

Maria: Good job on keeping up with the workouts. Hope work gets better soon.

Jen: Hope life gets easier soon.

Dave: Glad you enjoyed all the great food that Cincy had to offer. I saw some pizza in someone's picture that looked pretty good. Good luck getting back to eating healthy this week.

Kristi: Good luck with the xtraining. I definately need to start incorporating that as well.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Cindy

Good morning, everyone! Thank you for the hugs, Dave, and for your positive spirit. I wonder if you have any idea how much energy you bring to this thread?

I am so proud of myself for getting right back on plan yesterday. I stuck strictly to core and finished up with 1250 calories for the day (SP says 1200-1550). I can't believe how many times I had to prevent myself from reaching for snacks, even those 100 calorie or WW snacks. I really needed to show myself I could stay strictly on core and I did. I did not get to the gym, but at about 10 finally did 100 crunches and 100 push ups on the swiss ball.

Looking forward to a long streak of "good" days!
