Maria, thanks for resurrecting this thread. I have had a 1 pound gain over the last month. Could be a statistical anomally or it could be a 1 pound weight gain!
Losing weight in the last 4 weeks of training is challenging and hard on your body, I think. I have read that all endurance athletes put on some weight in those last few weeks. I am sure that not ALL of us do it, but I suspect a majority of us do. The interesting thing is this, I have always had a pretty good drop in weight after the event. I hope it works that way for you, as well.

I feel stronger and healthier than I did at this point last year, and I have a new appreciation for what my body can do. I'm rejuvenated by the experience & determined to continue my progress in terms of exercise & diet. I also managed to kick my soda habit during this time, and have avoided substituting coffee for soda (although I enjoy the occasional glass/cup of both).
where's that new thread....did I miss it??
