Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well! I guess we're all a little busy at this tme of year
Anyone have Halloween plans for Sunday?
Maria - Snacks are the hardest thing to pack and take along with you at work if you're on the road. But it's good to hear that you've been keeping up with your running! Yay! How did the ride with the VP go? Why did you have to take a Zip car?
Tandy - Any luck with the running shoes? I never wore tall boots until last year because my calves were too big. Now that I can fit into them, I LOVE wearing them
I don't have a pair of cowboy boots yet. Has the TM control panel been replaced? Is it working okay? I'm like you with the eating - last week for me was really, really god but this week has been filled with sugary treats. I'm going to try and get back on track for next week.
Beth - That's a lot of baseball games! Do you think your guys are going to want to play competitively as they grow up or is it just fun for them right now? How's your running going?
Jackie - Good luck at MCM this weekend! Burn some ashphalt!
Cindy/Debra/Jeannie/Manda - We miss you!
AFM - I'm grounded from running this week. I had a long treatment session on my knee on Tuesday. My chiro was concerned because I was having knee pain from doing lunges and squats while we were training on Monday. So she did a Graston treatment, ART and an adjustment. Graston is kind of a different treatment - she uses dull ended metal instruments to "scrape" away at scar tissue. It's kind of an odd sensation because you can feel the tool going over uneven surfaces. I think I'm good to run my 15 miler this weekend but will have to talk to her later.
I did my boxing session last night - didn't get a chance to skip rope or jump around but we worked on technique. Remember the movie the Karate Kid from the eighties? It was a little bit like that. I didn't realize how much technique was involved but I figure it's better to learn how to do things properly than to get injured. The trainer also complimented my old PT on all the work that we were doing - deadlifting, core work, kettlebell swings, lunges, squats etc. And here my PT was telling me that nobody ever looked at anyone else while they were working out. Ha!
Eating has been so-so ... I definitely notice it more on the weeks where I don't or can't run. I'm going to try and clean it up for next week ... although... I have this cake decorating class I'm going to on Tuesday. It's just a fun one time thing but they send you home with the cake! Yikes! Oh well... I never did get a birthday cake
Have a great day everyone!

I am so glad your TM is fixed! I hope it stays that way and takes you many miles. Have fun at the Halloween Party! I was lamenting this morning that we won't get to go to a Halloween Parade -- although ds is dressed as Atticus Finch today for extra credit at school. My sweet, sweet boy -- he could be anyone from Alice in Wonderland, and instead he chose a character from To Kill a Mockingbird
Well, it was an easy costume...

The good news is, that 3 months after the marathon, there is no permanent damage, unlike the heart attack. So, I guess you stress more than just the poor tired legs, huh? I already knew about the blood pooling in the veins, and how careful you need to be, but I found this info very interesting.
We are just going to keep swimming, Dory, and we will eventually get there!
to Manda! So great to see you posting!

I am so sad that my baby is a tween. And, he wants a gun for his birthday! A BB gun, but still!
He is having 2 parties, and now, Frank has to work during the one with the ten boys at lazer tag. I'm not the most patient of people, so I hope I keep it all together. Then, he's having a family party with just us, my stepson, my parents, my brother and his family. Harrison wanted all foods that begin with the letter H.
