Working from home

I shower every morning as usual. Stopped wearing makeup other than under eye concealer 😂. I dry my hair like normal. I do get dressed but not in my regular work clothes - lots of black leggings. If I have no meetings I will stay super casual in a sweatshirt but if I have meetings I wear a slightly nicer top. I feel gross if I don’t shower.

I've been semi-retired for a couple of years, I go into the office two days a week but 90% of the time it's just me, occasionally the boss or landlord come in. I stopped wearing make up when that started, before that I only wore a tinted moisterizer and mascara. I always let my hair air dry unless it's cold out and I don't wash it every day, I wash it about every 3 days. I don't wear pjs except when my son is travelling with me because that would be just wrong. I used to sort of dress business casual to go to work but now I only go in one day a week to check the mail, I work from home the rest of the time. Now when I go in, I wear whatever I was wearing around the house, whether that was shorts and a tshirt or leggings or sweats. I do put on a bra when I go out in public but don't wear one at home. Hubby has worked from home for years so his routine hasn't changed. I am slower about when I eat my meals, sometimes it's brunch instead of breakfast and lunch or lupper instead of lunch or supper and I'm slower about when I brush my teeth and work out. I skip my workouts more than I used to, which makes no sense, seems since I'm home most of the time I would get them done more often. In my defense, as I get older they hurt more and for longer so I tend to take more rest days now. I do brush my teeth, clean the dirty bits (not always in the shower) and brush my hair every day.

I get up and shower each morning. I have never worn make up or dry my hair, so those things are not any different. I do go from my nighttime jammies to my daytime ones. The daytime are more just comfy jammie bottoms and a top of some sort. I do not need to be on camera for any of my meetings.

My husband wears jeans instead of dress slacks and t-shirts versus polos or buttoned up shirts over the t-shirts. When he has a video call he'll put on a nicer shirt. He's been enjoying that because he doesn't have to iron his clothes like he would every day unless the video call is going on. Only 2 days so far did he wear lounge pants..which are not his pjs at all.

He showers the same as always though he doesn't do his hair (hairspray or gel) unless he has a video call or will be going out of the house.

I'm still working as normal.

My husband has always worked from home, but gone out to meet clients. He is currently out of work, so he isn't going out to meet anyone. However, he still does his usual morning routine as if he was going out: shower, shave, blow dry/style his hair. Wears his usual black T-shirts. Only difference is he used to wear his nice jeans and shoes, and now he just throws on swim trunks and flip flops.

This makes me laugh - my husband has been bald for so long now, visualizing him blow drying his hair has me in a fit of giggles at my desk! He had long hair when we met...a long, long time ago!

I love my husband dearly but let's be honest I still giggle a bit when he's the one buying the hairspray at the store and it's not for me

I'm pretty much sticking to my regular routine. Up, showered, do my hair and get dressed (jeans and sweatshirt mostly), The only thing I'm not doing is getting really dressed up and wearing make-up. We stick to the same meal schedule too. Once everything goes back to normal (or close to it) I wanted to be still on the same schedule.

Even when I am teleworking I am on call with a 30 minute response time. My routine has not changed other than I am no longer eating breakfast because I started intermittent fasting so I would not get fatter than I already am. My work days actually starter earlier and last later working at home and if I get called in the middle of the day they can stretch to 12 or 116 hours. Kinda ready to get back to 'normal' 8 hour work days.

I follow my usual morning routine shower, dry hair, get dressed in usual casual work clothes. I don't put on makeup for now. DH and the dog can see me as I am. If they are scared they can look the other way. LOL! I do go into the office one half day a week and I still don't wear makeup. There are only 5 of us there and no one really cares. Once the office is fully running again I will put on what little makeup I used to wear.

I shower and dress. My outfits are more casual, I'm not doing makeup or putting on jewelry. My hair is still on the not up for discussion list.

Even though I am not going anywhere except for two walks a day, I still have my same routine of showering daily, getting dressed and all that. No changes at all with any of that!

I'm trying to stick to a morning routine as much as possible. I get up, work out, shower, dress (meaning leggings and a sweatshirt, unless I have a Zoom meeting of any kind), take the dog out for a quick walk so he'll leave me alone for a bit , make coffee, and settle down to work. When I decide to take a lunch break, the pup and I will usually go to one of our local wooded trails for a longer walk.

After lunch it does fall apart a little bit though, just gets harder to focus and I hit a midday slump. Doesn't help that the weather has been super hit or miss. Lots of gray and rain. It's chilly but sunny today and it's amazing what a little sunshine therapy will do.

For the first two weeks, I ate terribly and drank every night. I am eating more normally now than I did in the beginning when I was on more of an emotional roller coaster. I also have restricted myself to alcohol only once or twice a week. We order out once a week as a treat and to support small business. I have managed to maintain my 20 pound winter weight loss. I am hoping to lose more weight at some point, but I'm not very motivated right now. I'm very happy to not be gaining.

I shower daily. In the beginning during my virtual meetings, I did my hair and makeup. I was the only one. I'm not wasting my expensive makeup on people who couldn't care less. I brush my hair and either put it in a ponytail, headband, or Disney baseball cap depending on my mood. My roots have grown out, and I look best in a headband or hat. My haircut has grown out and is too long to style.

I dress normally to walk on the beach. When I'm teaching or meeting online, I'm dressed appropriately on top, but sometimes I'm in pajama bottoms. Nobody can see, so I don't think it is a big deal. If I don't have to see anyone online and I am not going outside to walk, I might wear a nightgown for the entire day. When that happens, I wear a clean, fresh nightgown. My nightgowns look like maxi dresses which could easily be worn out of the house without anyone knowing the difference.

I think it is important for people to do their best, but also be gentle with themselves during a time like this. We need to cut each other some slack.

I've been showering at night and, uh, not every day since I started working from home. It lets me sleep an hour and a half longer than when I went in to work (50 minute commute, prep time). Makeup has not been happening, not that I did a ton beforehand (foundation, blush, powder, lipstick). I only have a couple meetings a week and I don't usually need my camera on for them. I wear pjs most of the day and change in the afternoon into my dog walking clothes.

My hubbybubs has a LOT of hair. And its curly. So he blow-dries it straight.

Here's how I describe his hair progression over the course of quarantine:
The Rocketeer or Rick O'Connell from The Mummy
Young John Travolta, circa this photo: https://tinyurl.com/yd9mp6ky
And now we have reached Ben Barnes in Prince Caspian :rotfl:

I’ve been working from home, always change out of pjs into comfy “at home” clothes but don’t put any makeup on. Hair is tied up in a ponytail or a bun, it is getting way too long now. I do get to sleep in, no more waking up at 6 to get ready for a long commute. Other than that not much has changed. I’m in meetings often during the day, but I never join with video.

I guess I’m technically retired, but things have changed in my routine for sure. I used to spend most of the morning out of the house just being out and doing frivolous things I enjoy.

Thank goodness pet care remained open with pretty much contactless handoff of pets because my dog would have killed herself or me. I don’t actually go in or see anybody with the COVID handoff measures so I don’t really get dressed anymore. I still shower twice a day but I put on what I refer to as my “inside loungewear” with a tank top type deal and no bra.

I don’t wear makeup because I don’t go anywhere and it hasn’t seemed fun anymore. I do throw a bra on to go walk the dog so that’s something.

As for the PJ thing, I guess I’m the opposite 🤷‍♀️ I had no idea people wore underwear with pajama bottoms. I always thought you weren’t supposed to wear underwear to sleep and also it’s too many layers that get all twisted up when thrashing about at night.

But I wash PJs and towels after every use, which I’ve recently found out is not necessarily the norm so maybe that’s a factor? I actually don’t wear anything more than once without washing it 🤔

Same. I don't know one person who wears underwear under pajamas or nightgowns. Not one.
