Work vent.. need advice!!! (Beyond Long) UPDATE!!!!

My manager quit today, she wrote a letter to the President of the company and went to our DM's boss and complained before she quit. Now it is just me in the office alone, 6 days a week 10 hours a day. :(

I am in the process however, of trying to get my OLD job back, the job that I left to come to THIS job... HUGE mistake! But it is open again so I am trying to get it back and my old DM is happy that I want to come back, so I think that I will be going back to GNC again :teeth: I never EVER should have left THAT job!!!!

I work for a payday loan company at a branch that is on the bottom of the chain! Well, we are always being harped on about numbers, I am NOT the manager here. I am the Assistant manager. Anyways, our DM is a total um, what word can I use here and be legal? There isn't one, so you get the picture... Our branch is low on the chain because of our location and because of the bad rap that previous managers have gotten for the branch. We are in a small town and word gets around rather quickly.

He just became DM in July and has been getting progressively worse! He is very controlling and my manager has NO say in anything that goes on in our branch.

He cut my hours, then he made me CANCEL a dentist appt that took me months to get and another month to reschedule and then he tried to make me cancel THAT one, but I fought him on that one. Now, he keeps messing with my days off. For instance... he told me that my days off are WED so I have to make ALL my appts on WEDs as to NOT interfere with work time... so I did that and on a WED that I had back to back things scheduled he tells me that I have to work!!!!

Anyways, the DM and I don't really get along well, I am opinionated and he doesn't like that! I have been passed up TWICE for promotion that other managers thought I should have gotten. I am Part Time, the ONLY Part time employee in the whole state of PA!

Now, my beef is.... I work THREE days a week! I was working more! HE cut my hours and I found out today that he is trying to make me quit. He was writing me up for things that I didn't even do and I called him on all of them, so he quit writing my up. :rolleyes: :mad:

SOOOOOO, I am thinking of going over his head and complaining. Not only does he treat me this way, he talks to me like I am a 4 year old! And since I am not there as much because of hour cutting, I don't know what is going on most of the time, and he is one to call and ask me things that he KNOWS I don't know just to make me look stupid!!!!

What would you do? He loves to play headgames and in one conversation can make my head spin rather well.

I totally understand. I having the same problems at work. How can I have 11 years of good work and then suddenly be a horrible worker? I just don't know

Have you talked to him? Let him know what you are doing. DO you have e-mail. What I do at times is send a nicely worded e-mail to my supervisor with problems and cc others concerning the problem. If you don't I would talk to him and then go over his head. Tell of your concerns and you will escalate them is need be.

He isn't one you CAN talk to, cause he thinks he is GOD and knows more than anyone else! He thinks that HIS way is right and he calls everyone a liar! His motto is "trust nobody" and I have proven to him OVER AND OVER that he can trust me, right down to turning in a relative for doing unfair work ethics. I don't cover for anyone and I don't hide anything! I do more work than the manager who has absolutely NO organization skills and NO people/customer skills (which I am working on)!!!! When she took over, she turned alot of people away with her attitude, but I think that she is getting better thanks to my coaching :teeth:

I just get frustrated, but am not going to let him win this little war of his!!!

Oh and he has taken it upon himself to read the BANK manual and knows it inside out, which is alright, except he expects EVERYONE to know it word for word like HE does!!!!!

He has also stated that he is better than HIS boss and plans to find away to get him fired so that HE can have that job! :rolleyes:
 
It doesn't sound like there is a whole lot of professionalism going on there. Document, document, document!

Sign NOTHING you do not agree with. Write responses to being written up and request they be attached to the write up that goes into your file.

If your hours were cut, file for unemployment for the difference between what you made before and what you make now.

Document all of this because it does sound like management may be contributing to a hostile work environment.

If I were you, I'd know the manual as well. Does your policies say anything about providing advance notice of schedule changes? Do you have a job description on file? You might want to document any requests made of you which may be unreasonable, something that is not specifically in your job description.

I wouldn't go over his head to complain without solid documentation to back your claims. Clear, concise documentation may be helpful. Please do not write a book, just simple statements of fact.

I totaly understand where coming from girl. I am have the same problems at work. Hang in there things will get better.

My job came out told me Friday in my annual review that if I don't show improve in my work that I am fired. It's funny I doing my line and everyone else to because I done with my work. They is trying make me quit by cutting hours, saying that need pick speed and not making prodection by during 25 boxes a hour.

I have decide I am let them fired me. Because I know I am doing a good job.
 
Apparently they have not heard the word harrassment. If you get fired , don't cash your last payck until your have a conversation with a lawyer

I used to have an employee like this... she told everyone she could do my job better than me.

He is our DM!!! He is just a HORRIBLE person. He is coming tomorrow to "talk to me" because I am all he has. JOY!!! :rolleyes:
